Delighted to have our ICU and ANP team QIP included in the NOCA report. Faster access to ICU has been shown to reduce organ failure and high risk admissions in SJH 🥳

Barbara Egan, Patient and Public Interest Representative on the Irish National ICU Audit Governance Committee and founder of @IcustepsD is our final speaker today. "A bed without adequately skilled staff is just a bed. We can't count an unstaffed bed as a bed. This shows the urgent need to address the training, recruitment and retention of ICU staff"...."All ICU patients who are not on a rehabilitation pathway have struggled alone since discharge for far too long". Barbara says that psychological supports and aftercare services are needed for patients and their families after their discharge from ICU. #INICUA2023

Call 4 Concern is officially being rolled out today by the Patient at Risk Team in Cardiff and Vale University health board. C4C is a patient safety initiative that provides a safety net for acutely deteriorating patients that feel a second option is required #C4C #patientsafety
