About as bad of a start I can remember for Boise State in a long time. Penalties, drops, undisciplined. And now the starting QB appears to be done for the game. Fresno State takes a 7-0 lead, with 2:28 left in the first quarter.

This afternoon's Boise upper air (balloon) sounding had 1.57 inch of precipitable water (an indicator of rainfall potential). This amount ranks second most all-time in records dating back to 1948. Only Aug 21, 2023, with 1.67 inch from remnants of a tropical storm, had more.

Well, we didn’t get much storm activity over southwest Idaho tonight, but I did spot a pocket of mammatus clouds over Boise, so I guess that’s not nothing…? 🤷🏻‍♀️🌩️

Snow arrived in Nampa just before 11am with breezy winds/blowing snow quickly creating visibility and traction issues. Travelers urged to use caution, REDUCE YOUR SPEEDS, and pack your patience if you must hit the road today.

Whiteout conditions in SE Oregon along Hwy 95 as of 9:30am Thursday. Snow will fill in from south to north into SW Idaho this afternoon with several inches expected through Friday morning.

An update on the #PalisadesFire from Tuesday afternoon. Devastating scenes that will likely only worsen overnight as the winds howl upwards of 65mph.

❄️The NWS Boise office has not yet seen measurable snowfall (at least 0.1") this season. When it does snow, it will be the latest first snowfall since at least 1958. The warmer and wetter than normal outlook around Christmas does not look promising for valley snow. #IDwx
