This Sunday on 60 Minutes, @BillWhitakerCBS interviews Vice President Kamala Harris. She discusses the situation in Israel and Gaza in the wake of the Hamas terror attack and urgent domestic issues, including gun violence prevention and immigration.

Congress can and must act to save lives. Make background checks universal. Pass red flag laws. Ban high-capacity magazines. And renew the assault weapons ban. We do not have a moment to spare, nor a life to spare.

Lewiston is yet another community torn apart by senseless gun violence. As we mourn for those killed and pray for the many injured, let us also be clear: It does not have to be this way. Congress can and must pass reasonable gun safety laws to save lives. Read my statement:

Today, the Georgia Supreme Court upheld a law that bans abortion before many women even know they are pregnant. Abortion bans passed by extremist so-called leaders continue to cause chaos, confusion, and fear. They are driving away doctors and worsening our country’s maternal health crisis. Even before the decision overruling Roe v. Wade, nearly half of Georgia counties did not have a single OB/GYN. The women of America deserve better. Congress must pass a bill that restores the protections of Roe v. Wade — and when they do, @POTUS will sign it into federal law.

The Biden-Harris Administration stands with the Jewish, Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim communities in our country. Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and hate of any kind must be condemned unequivocally.
