Seth Anderson Oberman for City Council District 8
We’ve been left to fight for ourselves, but I know we’re not alone. I’ve seen the power of working people organized together, and I have faith in that power. Together, we can build a better future for Philadelphia’s 8th district. On May 16th, we’ll start. Join us.

It’s time to talk about Hollywood’s Black hair problem. Amid calls for more inclusion and diversity, Black entertainers say the industry isn’t making the cut.

Let it be known this day, you do not need a Harvard, Yale, Princeton, or Brown degree to be successful. Our Madam Vice President went to @HowardU.

Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own. It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized.

Just so we're all on the same page: Indigenous Peoples were arrested the day before #FourthofJuly on their own lands which are protected by treaties, treaties, that according to the U.S. constitution, are the supreme law. #LandBack #UnitedStatesofHypocrisy

@CNN No thank you. It’s not what I want to hear before black bodies are used to smash against each other. I can’t bring myself to watch this version of slavery. @NFL

The NFL plans to have the song "Lift Every Voice and Sing" — known as the Black national anthem — performed live or played before every game in Week 1 of the NFL season, a source familiar with the league's discussions told CNN cnn.it/31DWQcP

@evanmcmurry “Illegal Fireworks Task Force” is a good name for the cop-squad trying to entrap black and brown kids by supplying them with these fireworks. @NYCMayor, I’d say NYPDHQ is a good place to start for your search. Good luck. #defundthepolice

i refuse to be as ignorant as i’ve been in the past for life. i will take that & make it all the more reason to fight to educate others now. i know who i am inside & i know where my morals lie. i am forever sorry for things i’ve said in the past- but know i am not that person now

If you have an issue with the fireworks going off every night, did you know you can call 502.595.2300 and ask them to arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor.

@RachelRHG @thomaschattwill Leftist radicals throwing bricks through windows are not protesters, they are criminals. Protest that restrictions on business should be lifted = good. Protests that police should be reformed in Democrat run cities (Minneapolis/NY/LA/Louisville/Atlanta) = good. Riot = Bad.

In which I try to think through the implications of the whiplash-inducing public health messaging regarding social distancing––while keeping in mind the cold and apolitical fact that COVID-19 doesn't give a damn about which issues of the day are trending. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

@IIFunkyFingerII @thomaschattwill The white conservatives guarding this statue attacked a man + his property just for using his phone. So no, not agreed. If you had a more nuanced understanding of the world everything wouldn’t feel “hypocritical.”

@RachelRHG @thomaschattwill And when conservatives were protesting against draconian lockdowns, were they peaceful or violent? They were peaceful. Agreed?

@RachelRHG @thomaschattwill Here’s what I JUST wrote: “100% agree with the protests.” I didn’t differentiate between Left or Right, did I? Nope. I do have a problem with rioting. There is a difference, you know. So scroll up a reread my answer to you again.

@RachelRHG @thomaschattwill 100% agree with the protests. Then and now. It’s the double standard of the Left attempting to keep businesses locked down, parks/pools closed while applauding LEFTISTS rioting and violating social distancing rules because doing so is “more important”. Double standard.

@RachelRHG You're actually wrong. It wasn't just white colonizers. The natives were raping and killing other tribes. Other nations had slaves and were barbaric. Sorry to bust your racist bubble.

Christopher Columbus is American history, like it or not. He was an explorer. Was he a savage? Sure but so was everyone during that time. Should we destroy history in order to feel better? No. We're suppose to have statues to remind us of history so it won't happen again.
