As an advocate for girls' education the father's teasing is simply to highlight an important message: that the Taliban - another backward regime - are harming the people of his country. I feel so sorry for everyone involved in this: for the Edwards family, for the complainants, and for Huw himself. No criminal offences were committed, so it’s a purely personal tragedy for everyone involved. Let’s hope the press leave them all alone now.

@thesecretbrief Excellent news. Great that your GP gave you diazepam and you added to this some strong painkillers. Good plan and good GP. Unfortunately many women turn up at See & Treat unaware that outpatient #hysteroscopy very often needs more than a 'vocal local' & ibuprofen from home.

So, lots of responses following my tweet about painful procedures for women, many from @HysteroscopyA As I didn’t wish to delay an urgent ‘cancer’ referral, I asked my GP to prescribe diazepam. Took it along with strong painkillers. Bearable. Unpleasant but bearable.
