@SkyNews @BBCLookNorth @BBCNews @BorisJohnson @grantshapps Don’t be fooled by what H.Murison/NPP says about northerns wanting #HS2, scrapping it will NOT cost votes. No South Yorkshire council wanted this route & even Sheffield Council wanted a different station to what it’s got

𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 ✅ Gutted not to take it all the way, but I am proud of how the evening went. Congrats to Gerwyn on the night win. Wins against Littler and Rock on the way to the final. A fourth final of the Premier League season. Points in the bag and the season is very much alive again. On to the next one. 👊 #GianvanVeen #GVV #Darts #PDC #PremierLeagueDarts

@Neilovichi @1Cor1613 @PolitlcsUK And yet we high sky high youth unemployment. And many businesses owners say why pay inexperienced when they can get a dab hand for not much more ?

Evidence from modern economic research indicates that minimum wage increases often have little to no negative impact on employment levels for low-skilled or youth workers, in contrast to the theoretical prediction that such policies price inexperienced entrants out of jobs. Landmark studies, such as David Card and Alan Krueger’s 1994 comparison of fast-food restaurants across state borders after New Jersey’s wage hike, found employment actually rose or held steady rather than declining. Comprehensive meta-analyses, including a 2024 review by Arindrajit Dube covering dozens of studies across multiple countries, report median employment effects near zero overall and only very small or positive responses for broad groups of low-wage workers, with newer research showing even weaker impacts. Similar patterns appear in UK analyses around the National Minimum Wage, where youth employment showed no broad losses. Researchers attribute these outcomes to adjustments like lower staff turnover, higher productivity, or shifts in prices and hours rather than job cuts, although the broader debate continues with some studies identifying modest negative effects in specific contexts.

@UtdCal92 @DylanMcbennett7 Oh please. He’s trying to be a tough guy in Manchester and it backfired big time. He bottled it. He’s was a joke today. Embarrassing antics. Hopefully he will learn from it.

I don’t understand why people are outing Littler there? Van Veen reacted negatively to the crowd after losing match darts? How are people seeing it any other way?

Keir Starmer says he "beat himself up" for appointing Peter Mandelson. He adds that he made a mistake. Boris made a mistake by holding a piece of cake in Tupperware, in his workplace on his birthday but you still called for him to resign. You’re finished. Just go.
