The members of the Bani Odeh family were not statues of Christ, their killing was not photographed and did not "go viral." Thus, the Israeli border policemen who shot at the car, killing two parents and two of their children, were not even questioned.
Breaking the Silence@BtSIsrael

The border police officers who massacred the Bani Odeh family won’t be questioned, as the evidence allegedly shows they shot “out of fear for their lives.” Two parents and their two children were killed, and the two surviving children were beaten. Let’s look at the “evidence” 🧵

I believe the death penalty is wrong. But far-right politicians in Israel found a way to make it even more unjust and morally reprehensible: by passing a law that would apply it almost exclusively to Palestinians. This is abhorrent. Anyone involved in carrying out this directive should be sanctioned by the United States government. It is long past time to put our money where our mouth is and impose consequences for the Israeli government’s ongoing occupation of the Palestinian territories and two-tiered system of justice.
B'Tselem בצלם بتسيلم@btselem

Israeli lawmakers opened bottles of champagne last night (Monday, March 30), to celebrate the introduction of the death penalty for Palestinians into Israeli law. Since October 2023, Israel has killed at least 72,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and at least 1,050 in the West Bank. During this time, more than 80 Palestinian have died in Israeli prisons, which have become a network of torture camps where inmates are subjected to continuous abuse and violence. The Death Penalty Law is another tool Israel is using to kill Palestinians.

Israel approved the establishment of 34 new settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Amichai Stein@AmichaiStein1

I24NEWS @inon_yttach: The Israeli cabinet quietly approved the construction of 34 new settlements in Judea and Samaria—an unprecedented number approved at once, and during ongoing military operations. Among the approved locations are areas within Palestinian enclaves in northern Samaria, as well as remote points that even the military rarely reaches. In fact, this marks the largest single approval of settlements by any cabinet to date. Until now, 69 settlements had been approved across numerous decisions; this move brings the total to 103 in one step.

@SecRubio @LizHurra Will the State Department and President Trump also hold accountable and conduct US-led investigations into the murders of American citizens in the West Bank by Israeli settlers?

I am pleased to announce the release of American journalist Shelly Kittleson, who was recently kidnapped by members of the foreign terrorist organization Kata’ib Hizballah near Baghdad, Iraq.   The U.S. Department of State extends its appreciation to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of War, U.S. personnel across multiple agencies, and the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council and our Iraqi partners, for their assistance in securing her release.   This resolution reflects the Trump Administration's steadfast commitment  to the safety and security of American citizens, no matter where they are in the world.   Under President Trump, the wrongful detention or kidnapping of U.S. nationals will not be tolerated. We will continue to use every tool to bring Americans home and to hold accountable those responsible.   We are relieved that this American is now free and are working to support her safe departure from Iraq.

Today alone: - Israeli settlers attacked a pregnant woman and her child in Silwad. - Ethnically cleansed 5 Palestinian families in Jericho. - Brutally assaulted a 70-year-old man in Mukhmas. - Attacked the Christian town of Beit Sahour, firing stun grenades at residents. - Set fire to 4 Palestinian tents and 5 vehicles in Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya. And the day is not over yet. Israeli settler terrorism has reached an unprecedented level, met with complete silence from the world. None of this will make it to Western news outlets. None of it.

There is already a death penalty for Palestinians in the West Bank, carried out on the ground by Israeli settlers and the Israeli army. Palestinians in the West Bank are killed daily simply for being Palestinian

Just to clarify, since some don’t seem to understand: 1) This death sentence will be delivered by military courts, there’s no jury, no representation 2) These military courts try Palestinian children 3) A child who throws a stone can be deemed a “terrorist” and now put to death.

It’s not just Ben Gvir. People keep pointing to him like he’s the problem, like he’s some outlier—but he isn’t. He’s a reflection of a system that backed this. 62 Knesset members voted for the death penalty law. Stop pretending this begins and ends with one man. It doesn’t.

Breaking: Israeli officials - The Israeli cabinet last night approved the legalization and formal recognition of more than 30 farms and outposts in the West Bank, some built illegaly. Amid headlines about the unsustainable burden on the IDF and the need to advance a more equitable conscription law, the Chief of Staff is warning of serious strain on the army, saying he is raising red flags about its current condition. However, the key operational outcome of the meeting is this decision- one that is also expected to place an even heavier burden on the IDF.

As violence escalates in the Middle East amid the Iran war, reports of increased and incredibly violent settler attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank are emerging. But what exactly is “settler violence”? A thread. 🧵

Since the beginning of this year, Israeli settlers have injured around 400 Palestinians and killed 8 across the West Bank. ZERO ARRESTS. This is not random violence — it is state-backed terror.

BREAKING: Israeli settlers stormed the Christian village of Taybeh, entered the village quarry, erected a tent, raised an Israeli flag, and declared they would not leave, claiming the land belongs to them. They also prevented workers from entering the quarry and carrying out their work. Christian leaders in the village are pleading for help to remove the settlers and protect the community from daily attacks. savewestbankchristians.com

The financing of settlement activity, including the purchase of paramilitary equipment for settlers (like ATVs) in occupied Palestinian territory far exceeds the scope of legitimate 501c3 activity outlined by the IRS. These organizations are directly funding West Bank and East Jerusalem instability and HR violations.

The United States must prosecute and revoke the charitable status of these organizations, and the countless others who also fund settlement activity across the West Bank.

I took this picture of Silwan in June of 2023. When I was there, Israeli settlers and authorities were ramping up their intimidation tactics to evict Palestinians from East Jerusalem neighborhoods to replace them with Jewish settlers. It has only gotten worse since then. 🧵
