@Soc_Unveiled When I was in high school we were taught the definition of a nation in my law class, then immediately told “it’s a little different here in Canada”.
No. The definition of the word doesn’t change just because you want it to. We don’t fit the definition of a nation anymore.

Not so fun fact:
Gun violence in Canada has increased over 50% since 2013, despite increasingly strict gun control laws.

Australia took away its citizens’ guns, but 10 people at Bondi Beach are dead anyway because terrorists don’t care about gun laws. The only thing the Australian government did was make sure its unarmed, law-abiding, citizens are now sitting ducks, unable to defend themselves.

@sappholives83 I don’t doubt their gf’s see him as a threat. I just doubt what kind of threat.

“You need to feel guilty about climate change and every other environmental issue!” — Every huge corporation ever, that puts a 1000x bigger burden on the environment than the average individual.

@alwaysRize @scopethetruth I did though. She said a man has the right to intimacy, but that it only counts as a sin to say no if he gets upset about it. Which then can very easily lead into rape.
English

@alwaysRize @scopethetruth There’s no such thing as having the “right” to sex with somebody. This could still SO easily lead into rape because a woman is then scared she’ll sin if she says no and her husband potentially gets upset by that. So then she’s been coerced by religious guilt.
English

@alwaysRize @scopethetruth “I don’t want to” IS a legitimate reason. And if you think otherwise, there’s a good chance you’re a rapist, or of the nature to become one.
English

That leaves out the context. The hadith is understood as discouraging spouses from deliberately refusing intimacy without a valid reason, not saying a wife must always say yes.
In Islam, illness, harm, exhaustion, menstruation, or other legitimate reasons are recognized, and husbands are also commanded to treat their wives with kindness and respect. It’s about mutual marital rights and responsibilities, not giving men unlimited control over women.

@TruthFairy131 I wish there was a different term for people who literally JUST want equal rights.

@sappholives83 I don’t get why these people are so obsessed with dating lesbians specifically. If they want to date a woman, why not just date a bisexual woman?
