genuine question, because I might be definitely missing something, but couldn't this all just be done by running `caffeinate -imdsu`? It is a built-in command on macOS, no need to install or download anything, so there should be no security issues either. I've been running it on my machines (both personal and work ones) since forever ago, and am yet to hit any issues whatsoever.

Tired of holding your laptop half open to keep your agents running? Introducing AgentPlug: A USB-C dummy plug that keeps your Mac in clamshell mode by pretending to be an external display! No commands, no security worries (just pull it out to stop!), no hassle.

I learned recently there's an opposite to paranoia called pronoia. It's when you're delusional that everything will work out. I think cultivating mild pronoia along with actively engaging it (doing things normal people think won't work out) is one of the best things you can do.

Never doom. Stop being pessimistic. The person who wakes up everyday and says they're a fucking loser and nothing ever good happens to them will exist in a reality where nothing ever does. ENDURE EVERYTHING.

I taught Claude to talk like a caveman to use 75% less tokens. normal claude: ~180 tokens for a web search task caveman claude: ~45 tokens for the same task "I executed the web search tool" = 8 tokens caveman version: "Tool work" = 2 tokens every single grunt swap saves 6-10 tokens. across a FULL task that's 50-100 tokens saved why does it work? caveman claude doesn't explain itself. it does its task first. gives the result. then stops. no "I'd be happy to help you with that." no "Let me search the web for you" no more unnecessary filler words "result. done. me stop." 50-75% burn reduction with usage limits getting tighter every week this might be the most practical hack out there right now

Every country has an energy. And that energy rewires you whether you notice it or not. People move to Japan and become minimal. People move to Mexico and their entire relationship with time softens. People move to New York and suddenly they can't sit still. Your personality is far more malleable than you think. We treat it like something fixed, but new surroundings give you new defaults. New pace. New habits. New values absorbed through proximity instead of effort. You're not just the average of the 5 people closest to you. You're the average of the 5 places, the 5 routines, and the 5 inputs you're exposed to most. Your commute shapes you. The weather shapes you. Every space you occupy is voting on who you become. That's why I believe choosing where you live is one of the most important decisions you'll ever make. More important than your job title. Maybe more important than your five-year plan. Because the place shapes the plan. The place shapes your energy, your habits, your relationships, your default state. Get the place right and half of the other decisions start making themselves. Get it wrong and you'll fight yourself every day.

Papa @badlogicgames is not convinced, but I find experiments with message passing with pi highly insightful. This demos how one pi can send a message to another session and back:

@mds game changer for readability! can't believe this simple pro-tip lol. I set this on ghostty terminal "adjust-cell-height = +20%" (I found 1.3 or +30% a bit much).

'Just use a VPS' bro. It's just a 1-click, 2222-step install.

Incredible to see the meme play out so accurately re @openclaw. Some incredible takes 😅 "Runs Clawdbot on a $5/mo Hetzner VPS in Frankfurt” • “SSH tunnel + tmux + systemd service + nginx reverse proxy for WhatsApp bridge” • “Wrote a custom Docker compose with 47 environment variables and healthchecks” • “Proudly self-hosting Claude on 2 vCPU, 4GB RAM, constant OOM kills” • “Uses tailscale + cloudflare tunnel + fail2ban + weekly cron reboots” • “Spent 3 weekends optimizing latency instead of just buying the damn Mac Mini” • “My uptime is 99.3% if you ignore the weekly kernel panics” • “Refuses to pay $600 for hardware but happily burns $80/mo on VPS upgrades + electricity” • “Has 3 backup scripts in bash but still panics when the instance gets suspended” • “Thinks Mac Mini is ‘centralized cloud nonsense’ while running everything through DigitalOcean”

Been leaning more on buildwithpi.ai in 2026 💪 There's almost a release daily and highly customizable with extensions. Recommend for anyone that's wanting to see what else is out there other than claude code / codex as their harness. (you can even use your existing subscriptions with pi!)

My newest extension for Pi coding agent lets the agent drive any interactive CLI (including other agent harnesses) in an overlay while you watch, with option to take control anytime. Full pty, token-efficient polling and configurable. github.com/nicobailon/pi-…

I've wasted many tokens building things that I end up not using. Tough pill to admit I chase the dopamine hits with these coding agents, and with often little value. It will become important to carefully select what you choose to work on. "Just because you can, you might not want to."
