It’s a terrible time to be a pediatrician. And honestly, parts of my profession do deserve the criticism— the lack of humility, the arrogance, the unwillingness to listen. That needs to change. But let’s not lose our humanity in the process. They are not the enemy. Pediatricians are still people. People who care deeply about your kids—so much so that they gave up more than a decade of their lives to learn how to care for them. You may not agree with the how. But remember the why. Reform matters. So does compassion. We need change—but we need to remember we’re talking about people, not enemies.
