In 2023, the Pistons gave Monty Williams a 6 year 78.5 million dollar contract, making him one of the highest paid coaches in all of basketball. After just 1 season, they fired him. Eating over 65 million dollars to NOT coach their basketball team. They then hired JB Bickerstaff who flipped the culture IMMEDIATELY. And led a bunch of young dawgs to the playoffs in year 1. In year 2, they currently sit as the best team in the east. They play defense better than anyone in the league. And DEEETROIT BAASKETBALLL is all the way back.
