India being the fastest growing major economy with exponential growth in energy consumption, the world was waiting for this announcement on Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Amendment Bill, 2024, passed by Lok Sabha today. The demand of the International O&G majors and the industry has been taken care of by this amendment. I am in Houston at #CERAWeek2025. With this news, all major service and technology providers will find India a great market and investment opportunity for them. We, at Cairn, made an announcement to invest USD 5 Billion to increase reserve to 5 billion barrels, 500kboepd of production and create hundreds of SMEs and startups. This pathbreaking policy reform could have only happened under the leadership of PM @narendramodi and Minister @HardeepSPuri. With this, India’s fiscal regime is the most competitive globally.
