I'm 27 and just hit my first $100k in my taxable brokerage account today. This brings my total investments, including my Roth retirement accounts, to $213k.
I made $80k last year, and will make $85k this year (a good but not crazy salary) and have invested at least 25% of my income the past few years while supporting my wife, who's a stay at home mom, and our two kids (soon to be three).
I've had a couple lucky breaks on some investments that helped put me ahead, but most of this wealth comes from simply buying and holding "boring" index and factor funds.
Nothing fancy, just a simple formula that works: budget and live on less than you make, invest as much as you can, and ignore the noise.

@Leo_Traydes Honest advice from someone who graduated in 2023: I didn’t land a full time job until about a year and a half after grad but I stayed busy with part time gigs during that time so I still had steady income flowing in. I’d recommend that especially in this job market

I have basically come to a conclusion for my post graduation plan 👀
Post graduation my number 1 pay off all high interest loans
From there I would only have federal loans left at a 3-4% interest rate which isn’t too bad
Once that’s all I am left with I will take a shot at flight school and hopefully be able to chase my dream of becoming a pilot
I still don’t have a job post graduation and am honestly just looking to do anything that pays decent at this point
Long term I will be happy with this plan, but short term I’m going to feel some pain 😬

People like watching peoples journey.
People like me with 100k+ portfolios in their 20’s are not the norm for society.
They are more relatable.
Also, just because you have more money doesn’t make you a better investor.
I know of people that are terrible investors, but they are able to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. So the portfolio size thing makes no sense. You are just ragging on people starting their journey.
Also, long term investors don’t really need to check their portfolio often so checking analytics more would make more sense.
Also the 69 cents dividend thing I had those when i first started investing. A win is a win.
Stop belittling others it shows poor character.

This is why it’s so crucial to only sell puts on assets you actually want to own.
When I sold this $PLTR was trading at $147.
So I made an agreement to buy 100 shares for $900 cheaper and got paid $146 to do it.
CB on assignment will be $136.54 a share.
Could also roll down & out if I really don’t want the shares. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.
