If you want to understand one reason why tech is swarming fashion, hear it straight from the devil’s mouth: The “word people” will be better off than the “math people”. When Thiel says “word people”, he means anyone whose primary skill is verbal and rhetorical. Those in the arts, humanities, design, marketing, politics, law, social sciences. The ones with tacit knowledge, who understand the unwritten workings of human nature. Because they know how people work, even if it’s on an intuitive level, they know how to move them. A lot of money has been poured into AI, but how does the industry, filled with “math people”, move humanity? They need a counterpoint. And where do some of the richest, most influential and persuasive “word people” live? In luxury fashion.

My new favorite thing to say is thank you. It’s like electricity, the affinities expressing themselves in even the tiniest ways, the intoxication & rapture that comes with realizing that people affirm your existence as careless & easy as a breeze. Saying thank you is the corresponding movement of temperance, the magic phrase that manifests & abides the spell, the vow & the release. Rejoicing in the fullest sense. Rejoicing, rejoining. It’s saying ‘I’m here with you, I’m grateful, I’m glad & grateful to be here with you.’

@sasshion Not only that but it’s a reference to Grand Theft Auto VI, coming out later this year. I wonder if it’s the soft launch of some sort of collaboration?

Anthropic just took a big swipe at OpenAI's decision to put ads in ChatGPT. Anthropic is airing ads mocking ChatGPT ads during the Super Bowl, and they're hilarious 😅 Anthropic is also committing to no ads in Claude theverge.com/ai-artificial-…

I actively temper my bias when it comes to Anderson, but then I see shots like this. Sublime. jonathan.anderson (ig) photographed by david sims

@RiloeGaming So funny you say this. I was able to watch it a month ago for the first time. The cinematography was beautiful, and after watching it I read that it was ground breaking.

Very sweet Valentine’s Day designs from Bottega. I’m always surprised to see a holiday-specific collection that’s creative, because so many look like low-effort merch.

@AC_newtothis you've posted this sort of question before to my tweets and i think you can find the answer by simply understanding some people live in densely populated urban areas and are not drawn to conventional lifestyles involving finance and polo shirts. i hope this helps you

I wasn’t a big fan of SOSHIOTSUKI’s LVMH Prize-winning collection (so much ’80/’90s nostalgia), but this season at Pitti, Otsuki leans in to the sensuality of Italian tailoring. It makes all the difference, contrasting well with his precise Japanese style. Armani remains a big influence, and for good reason, the GOAT mastered East-meets-West. As Rick Rubin says, “You start by copying what you love. Over time, what’s truly you reveals itself.” Definitely one to watch.
