@MrLeeCain @Conservatives @KemiBadenoch @ConHome For 30 years both Labour and the Conservatives have ignored, lied to and gaslit the public. The sheer disrespect and cynicism of thinking a new leader will make the electorate trust you again is staggering. No self-respecting person could ever vote for either again.

Most people in the @Conservatives are not yet willing to admit this publicly but it is time to face reality - @KemiBadenoch is failing as leader. The party is in a worse position than when she took over and there are no signs of recovery. My piece for @ConHome on why it is time the Tories followed Labour and confronted its own failing leadership. 🔗 conservativehome.com/2026/05/18/lee…

@montie Management 101: if you want a task completed, make one person clearly accountable, and tie promotion and reward to delivery. Civil service culture ensures responsibility is diluted until no one is answerable, and repeated failure carries zero professional cost.

@mikepat711 Inspirational. A testament to what can be achieved with the vision and drive to pursue a goal that will have a far reaching positive effects in the very near future. Image what could be achieved if our political leaders focused us on positive goals instead of grievances.

Ahahahaha. Elon fucking cooked up self driving and still most don’t believe it’s real. I love this shit. I thought it was trash 2 years ago but now I’m sitting here laughing, shaking my head daily. That crazy son of a bitch did it, man. Just got through the DC gauntlet. Still haven’t touched the steering wheel or pedals today. Started in Raleigh. Multiple downpours, daytime, night time. Doesn’t matter. It just cooks through everything

@MayuranSenthil @RestoreBritain_ Nigel’s UKIP experience taught him that aligning with anyone tainted by racism, even unfairly, is the kiss of death for a party that wants electoral success. Restore is doing a great job in proving exactly why Reform is the only party to support if you want to save the UK.

It is abundantly clear that those at the top of @RestoreBritain_ know who they are but do not know who they are not. They have left the back door open to some very extreme people and while they may disagree with them, they will not condemn them because they view them as part of the same tribe. This might be fine in the short term but as Restore grows they will attract the worst Britain has to offer. The public will not sit through 2 hour podcasts which justify Restore’s stance. The party that has emerged from X will have to face the reality of the doorstep. They will eventually be branded a genuinely ‘nasty’ party and given their association, that will be impossible to shake off. The good people in Restore will end up leaving in due course. @RupertLowe10 should step in and correct course. But I doubt he will. The tribal loyalties are too strong and the ungrounded drug of ‘revolution’ too addictive. Political expediency has been the enemy of Britain thus far, but now I see vain political idealism as equally disastrous. I have obviously always respected @Nigel_Farage but given what I have seen in Restore I have a new found appreciation for what he has done with @reformparty_uk

@LoftusSteve Not retarded. Muslim & communist supporters view white liberals as gullible, naïve and easy to manipulate into pro-Muslim, anti-western and anti-capitalist policies. Younger white Libs vote for them out of ignorance of the repeated historical failure of their policies.

It is quite disconcerting to see the purity spiral on the right. I was forced into close proximity with utopianism (in reality, a childish retreat into fantasy) throughout a 25-year career in the university sector, and I saw that true believers were always the most limited—and unhappiest—of people. I’ve always been attracted to the pragmatic nature of conservative thought: its relative freedom from the constraints of rigid concepts and ideology, and its potential to produce real results. Context is everything. A sensible programme might include: • Deporting all foreign criminals • Waging war on captured institutions • Stopping mass immigration • Targeting the radical (or potentially radical) elements of the Muslim population • Leaving the ECHR • Taking on so-called human rights lawyers • Eliminating the Blob • Properly punishing paedophiles • Producing more workable definitions of terrorism and treason And on the positive side: • Reconfiguring education • Rescuing our heritage • Promoting democracy and free speech • Inculcating patriotism and civic pride • Stressing individual responsibility rather than rights • Prioritising taxpayers, business owners, tradespeople, and entrepreneurs • Protecting childhood • Offering attractive programmes of Scandinavian-style voluntary remigration • Actively encouraging prosperity and success • Celebrating the nation All of that seems sensible to me. Moreover, it is all potentially doable and would obviously make for a better Britain. I don’t claim it offers all the answers, but it would certainly set us on the right track. The National Front-type obsession with racial profiling is NOT the answer. It is neither pragmatic nor desirable—it is simply racism. Mass deportations based on ethnicity, ethnicity tests, and virulent antisemitism are merely the flip side of leftist identitarian obsession. Worse still, they are ends in themselves—and they will take us to hell.

@Sargon_of_Akkad An informative post Carl, if not in the way you intended. Rupert has forced those on the right to carefully consider leaders and policies. Misrepresenting Farage, especially when we can all hear his point, is clarifying and has certainly help me make up my mind.

@DuncanBannatyne I can not be the only one to notice that so many on the left have an unreasoning aversion towards indicators aligned with male authority - patriarchy, wealth, police and security forces. If billionaires were taxed into poverty, Harry would still have issues.

Harry. I am sure you are a great nurse. And I accept nurses are underpaid. But the way to stop billionaires leaving the UK is not by calling them names or showing hatred for them. Because they can move away from the name calling & hatred & have great lives. But the uk will lose a lot from that. (just trying to help)
Harry Eccles@Heccles94

Here’s Ed Miliband failing to answer the question 17 times on why he won’t publish his secret energy deal with China. So much for the Labour government’s ‘transparency revolution’.

This is an astonishing exchange. Ed Miliband dodges the question SEVENTEEN TIMES on why he won’t publish his secret China deal. What is he trying to hide? Well done @BradleyThomasUK.
Claire Coutinho@ClaireCoutinho

Why is Ed Miliband hiding the secret energy deal he signed with China? I just asked him to publish the full text of the deal he signed with the Chinese Communist Party last year. His response? To call it a 'wacky conspiracy theory'. So here are the facts👇🏾

@joshxhowie For years, our governments and institutions have treated the public with open contempt. Politicians are now paying at the ballot box. Others must not escape accountability, in court or financially. This behaviour must have serious consequences.

There’s no way a government would do anything like this, especially in such a blatant, unsubtle, and cack-handed manner and expect to get away with it. Then I remember we’re talking about this government.
