Left home yesterday morning at 7.40, returned more than 12 hours later as a marathon runner. Fabulous day. Thanks to @ParkinsonsUK @LondonMarathon and everyone who came out in the rain to volunteer, cheer on and support the runners.

I have stayed silent about this all weekend, but can't any longer. Ann Widdecombe was clearly assassinated in a pre-meditated terror attack. The police got this very wrong. I have two shocking pieces of evidence that I will outline on Outspoken at 5pm. She deserves better.

@lembitopik Nonsense. The investigation is continuing. The police came into new information. They felt it sufficiently new to update us. That's all that's happened here.

If it turns out Ann Widdecombe’s murder was political, police will be guilty of misleading speculation by prematurely stating “nothing to suggest it was politically motivated.” Such statements risk making police look “politically motivated”themselves

@bbctms The @ECB_cricket statement is confusing. It's headlined "...stepping down...", suggesting McCullum decided, but the body of the story says he accepts the decision.

Test Match Special
Some big breaking news - Brendon McCullum's time as men's Test coach has come to an end ❌ He will continue to lead the white ball side, with the ECB saying the process to replace him now beginning.

It’s fair enough for the media to point out Nigel Farage has a dubious friend who did time in jail. But some of the journalists pointing the finger were best mates with the odious Peter Mandelson. What Mandelson, champion of weapons-grade paedophile Epstein, stands accused of - which he firmly denies - makes Farage’s friend look like a piffling amateur. Or am I missing something?
Clarissa Reilly@clarescastle

Interesting you keep referring to someone connected to Farage as being ‘a convicted criminal’ @thetimes @TimesRadio @Gabriel_Pogrund yet continue to refer to Lou Haigh, someone connected to Burnham, just as a prospective Cabinet Minister…. 📱📱📱📱Two Tier journalism.

@JohnChaytor @TaraDH1 @UKLabour The majority of the MSM supports the left? It depends what you mean by the MSM I suppose? The press? Or the press and broadcasters? I don't see a left majority when you look at either or both.

@TaraDH1 @UKLabour Because the majority support the left. Remember Andrew Marr on Question Time after Keir Starmer won? What a golden age he was predicting. Projecting.

The continued journey the @UKLabour is following towards its anointment of "St Andy" from the North raises some serious questions: - Out of the 400 or so current Labour MPs was there no-one who was competent enough to step up? - Has his tenure in Manchester been that great? There are some questions over contracts to be asked, growth in the area is at best poorly distributed, etc. Where is the scrutiny of his time in office? - Has he really got what it takes to be PM? Where is the test of his policies, competence and capability? - Comparing this change of Leadership is not comparable with the Conservatives - at least they went through a challenging process, were scrutinised and tested. Apart from wishy-washy words where are the real details of his plan to govern? If this is fundamentally different to the one from 2024 should be not go to the country? And the list goes on.... Why are the MSM not doing their job?

@andywigmore So it's a witch hunt when the media asks questions about Farage, but legitimate scrutiny when it's anyone else?

In your dreams Dan - old story and irrelevant - Farage was not even elected, not in politics and guess what, the public don’t trust the media witch hunt against Farage- they see you and others Dan, same playbook against Farage as we witnessed against Trump, didn’t work with Trump won’t work with Farage.
(((Dan Hodges)))@DPJHodges

I suspect George Cottrell is about to become for Nigel Farage what Peter Mandelson was for Keir Starmer. There are too many different angles to the story for Farage to be able to effectively shut it down. There’s no way of drawing a line.

@danny__kruger Are you going to call for all scrutiny of the personal lives of politicians, eg, Keir Starmer, Bridget Philipson, Angela Rayner, Ed Mills and Hannah Spencer, to stop or just your company's leader? Thought not. Hypocrite.

The hounding of Nigel Farage and his family over their personal finances and living arrangements is a transparent attempt by established power - in the government and the media - to disable Reform because of the threat the party poses to their privileges. All these attacks haven’t revealed a single incidence of wrongdoing. They’re playing the man and not the ball. The British public will see that, and see it is unfair, and it won’t work.

@HonestFrank It was big news that such a great champion came back, but some people were building it up as if she was a realistic contender to win the thing. That was never on the cards.

The best thing about Emma Raducanu is that she’s basically an amateur. Like something from the Edwardian age. She doesn’t earn her living playing tennis, she earns it doing other things and then plays a bit of tennis for fun. The Corinthian spirit lives! thetimes.com/article/a644fe…

@gilescoren It takes more than being an amateur to be seeded 30 at Wimbledon. You would think she was the only tennis player to be injured at the moment. You had plenty of other tennis players you could have had a go this week and you picked two women. Sad.
