First take segment: “is it title or bust for Spurs this year” like WHAT. What a downfall first take has had.

I fully expect NOP to take a ton of calls on Zion this offseason and it’s going to be really interesting to see if any contenders take a chance on him

@CelticsCurt I agree I think it really makes sense to get a guy at 27 this year, trade Hauser and whatever else for another guard/playmaker, get under the tax for one more year which will reset the repeater tax and go all in 2027-28

My main concern with this offseason is that idk if Boston can really get enough to truly be back in the conversation. I think the roster needs *a lot* of improvement. Not sure where you find that in one summer. The JB stuff also gives me chemistry concerns.

@BrianTRobb It almost feels inevitable Hauser will be traded. Do u think we package Hauser and 2027 pick for a big?

New: Brad Stevens has a massive offseason on the horizon. However, there is one critical variable that will loom large on Celtics trades and retooling possibilities masslive.com/celtics/2026/0…

My top 3 favorite realistic targets for PG and Center in the draft ranked. (Some of these guys have potential to go before 27) PG: 1. Christian Anderson: 6’3 PG arguably best passing IQ of any PG in the draft. 3 level scorer, rebounds well for his position. Needs a ton of work on his defense 2. Ebuka Okorie: 6’2 PG only 19. High motor, gets downhill with elite first step and shiftiness. Gets overpowered easily on defense against bigger guards. Shooting can be inconsistent at times from deep and shot selection. Passing will be better at NBA level 3. Tyler Tanner: 6ft PG with elite athleticism which makes up for his size at times. Locked in on ball defender but struggles with switches to bigger players, tends to over pass at times but has amazing speed and instinct. Centers 1. Morez Johnson Jr (high doubts he lasts to 27): 6’11 20 year old prospect. Offense is still a work in progress but a ton of upside. Super strong and super aggressive. Extremely switchable on defense and can cover 3-5 with his athletic ability and size. Decision making probably his biggest flaw. 2. Henri Veesaar: 7ft three year college prospect. All around one of the best out of lottery centers available. Extended his range, elite passing from the post, great rim roller, translates as a legitimate rim protector. May struggle to guard the perimeter. 3. Zuby Ejiofor: 6’9 22 year old. Offensive game is limited, but he’s a bruiser even at 6’9. Attacks the rim, elite ability to get position on boards, passing IQ is extremely high. Will be a defensive demon. Lacks a lot of scoring fundamentals and relies on force more than touch, but can finish through contact Drop yours.

@CoreyB08 I agree with what you’re saying Corey but I do think ur underestimating a Tatum giannis duo. It’s light years a better fit than the jays rn. Giannis also hasn’t been maximized off ball from someone like Tatum. They would tear it up late games. Throw pp and white outthere too

And? Lillard was better player than Jrue KD was a better player than Bridges, Johnson, Crowder KD/Harden/Kyrie were better than everyone they replaced on the Nets. You guys keep pretending the move will be an immediate fit and seamless leading to multiple rings It could be an elite move or a total bust. None of us know. What we do know is the Jays have proven to win a title together, Brad has been able to build a championship team. Giannis hasn’t been healthy for 2 of the last 3 playoffs and he’s 32 how do you know he is healthy come next year? NBA isn’t as easy as just plug and play.

@CoreyB08 Nigga giannis is simply a better player it’s not rocket science wdf wrong w yall

If Mikel Brown Jr is off the board…we should draft Aday Mara!! His ceiling is Nikola Jokic but with elite defense!!! We can then trade Gafford!!

@MoggedByTatum incredible work here. Insane you even had to do all this to convince JB Stan’s but the main takeaway from all this is the part about weaponizing him with tatums playmakin. Do people realize they would be the best duo since prob Kobe and Shaq? Thats not hyperbole. Absolute force

Age regression is not the same for each player lol, Jaylen Brown could very well age worse within the next 3-5 years than Giannis. Obviously we don’t know for sure and things can change but Giannis’s “injuries” haven’t affected his production in any significant ways. Giannis age/est. retirement age: 31.3 —> 38.3 (7.0) Jaylen age/est. retirement age: 29.5 —> 36.7 (7.2) Both projected around the same years remaining despite Jaylen being 2 years younger, so the whole argument/spiel that we’d have less of a window would go out the window, also the injury prone narrative is 100% overblown and close to not real when you don’t include the obvious tanking 2026. Jaylen GP from 20-25’: 324 Giannis GP from 20-25’: 331 Counterpoint to how they are very much NOT the same thing or even close, people reduce this to “Giannis can’t shoot” and completely ignore how offensive value is actually created. First off, Giannis is STILL more efficient in spot-up situations despite being a worse jump shooter mechanically. Giannis is sitting at 60%+ TS on spot-ups in multiple recent seasons while Jaylen’s 2026 spot-up efficiency is 54.1 TS% and -1.4 rTS. That’s because defenses react to Giannis entirely differently. His gravity is rim pressure gravity, not jumper gravity, and it creates easier offense even when he’s technically the “non-shooter.” Then it gets disrespectful everywhere else: Giannis transition: 71.5 TS%, 1.27 PPP this year on MASSIVE volume. Career 69.1 TS%, +5.4 rTS. Jaylen transition: 66.6 TS%, 1.14 PPP this year. Career 64.6 TS%, basically neutral efficiency overall. That gap is enormous because Giannis bends the entire floor. Jaylen is a good transition scorer. Giannis is arguably the greatest transition force ever. Giannis career cut efficiency: 73.7 TS% 1.39 PPP +6 rTS Jaylen career cut efficiency: 64.9 TS% -3.7 rTS 1.23 PPP Roll man: Giannis: Career 65.8 TS% 1.22 PPP +5.9 rTS Jaylen: Career 45 TS% 0.87 PPP -15.6 rTS So even in actions where Giannis supposedly “kills spacing,” he’s obliterating Brown efficiency-wise and is much more scalable. And the funniest part is Giannis barely even gets optimized usage in some of these categories because Milwaukee historically used him as a heliocentric creator instead of a screener/cutter with an elite playmaker beside him. The numbers we’re seeing are WITHOUT him being fully weaponized off-ball, in which he’d be FULLY weaponized with Tatum’s gravity. Meanwhile Giannis also gives you: -elite rim pressure -elite offensive rebounding -elite passing reads out of doubles -weak side roaming -transition creation -paint collapse gravity that creates open 3s without even touching the ball Jaylen is a very good scorer there is no denying that, but Giannis is a full offensive ecosystem AND one of the best weak-side defenders ever at the same time. (Not the same as he once was) Comparing them as “similar offensive fits because neither are elite shooters” completely misses how basketball works. Not to mention they’re priced exactly the same so it poses ZERO question.

@itsGeorgeyy Jaylen is 2 years younger, can shoot and doesn’t have hard miles Giannis has. We also don’t have to give up anything the guy we already have. So there is a lot less risk.

@JrueLFG Plus AD contract is too high. Zion kinda moves me I guess. Would have to give up Derrick so we’d need another guard but if we give up Jaylen or Derrick I want to aim big

It’s a shame Anthony Davis is a total hypothetical player atp because Healthy Anthony Davis is legitimately the perfect fit Tatum-AD-Neem front line This would be go back to being a Defense First team. No layups with that out there.

@deathstrokewin @ajayv012 @Alaguerre21 @Joe_Friedman99 @GKTRE_ NO?! Jt gets more assists because he’s a BETTER playmaker. What do you MEAN not getting touches?! He was the number 1 option and was getting locked up by KELLY OUBRE! People that think JB is better than Tatum are such casuals who dk ball. Browns gravity nowhere near tatums

Brown for Giannis trade has the Celtics losing 9 more games and the Bucks winning 11 more games. Anyone who wants to do this trade is a moron, that’s why Milwaukee wants it so much. Thank god Brad Stevens is the GM and not you Twitter idiots.

@celtic67mustard @CoreyB08 Yep I absolutely agree. I’m not for trading him or splitting the Jays up I love having two perimeter studs but 70 mil for Jb is just too much and makes it too difficult to build a championship roster.

@Ralphbear07 @CoreyB08 the biggest problem isnt jaylen at all its that 70mil/year extension. If the CBA wasnt the way it was this wouldnt really matter but the CBA is kinda forcing us to try to convince him to take a paycut or move him. that's just my take on it tho. would be hard to build around that.

If we listened to most people who said split up the Jays for countless years we’d probably still have not seen a title since 2008. Just saying 🤷🏻‍♂️

@TA1297 Exactly. I’m screaming to trade him now like some r but bro 25 TOs and 23 assists when Kelly Oubre is guarding you like you just have to be better than that. Giving him 70 mil seems like too much. And that’s not his fault CBA nowadays makes it so hard to build around ur stars

I’m totally fine and understand people not wanting to trade JB for sentimental reasons. That’s our guy, but there’s just no basketball reason to be against such a thing frankly.
