A meaningful day in Ranchi. From unveiling Bhagwan Birsa Munda ji’s statue to inaugurating passenger friendly facilities at the airport, every initiative was centred around people, comfort and accessibility.

Building on Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision of “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi”, today had the honour to inaugurate the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Statue and Feature Wall at Ranchi Airport alongside Hon’ble MoS Defence & MP Ranchi, Shri @SethSanjayMP Ji. On this occasion, several passenger-centric initiatives promoting the idea of Ease of Flying were also inaugurated, including the UDAN Yatri Cafe, Flybrary, Kids Zone and AVSAR Outlet for tribal artisans. We are committed to transforming our airports into more than just transit hubs — making them reflections of our rich cultural legacy as well as platforms for economic opportunities.

We had meaningful discussions on key development works and policy decisions concerning Andhra Pradesh and having significant economic impact on the state.

Met Dr. M. Srinivas, Director of AIIMS Delhi and Member of NITI Aayog. Held a solution-oriented discussion on the issue of Uddanam Kidney Disease affecting farmers and workers in the Uddanam region of Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh. Had a wonderful interaction with Mrs. Radha Bhatia, President, Women in Aviation India, on encouraging greater participation of women in aviation and creating more opportunities for girls, especially from rural India. Proud that India has the highest percentage of women pilots in the world at 15%, nearly 3 times the global average. On the lines of recent reductions of VAT on ATF, by states like Maharashtra, I appreciate the timely decision of Delhi Chief Minister Smt @gupta_rekha ji and the Delhi Government to also reduce VAT on ATF from 25% to 7%. At a time when the aviation sector continues to face global operational and cost pressures, such proactive measures by State Governments provide much-needed support to airlines and help keep air travel affordable for passengers. Delhi, being one of the country’s busiest aviation hubs, will particularly benefit from this decision through improved operational stability and continued affordable connectivity for lakhs of daily passengers. I thank the Delhi Government for this positive and passenger-centric intervention in support of India’s aviation sector. @MoCA_GoI
