It doesnt though because what he means by this is that a good author will write a character to win in a way that is consistent, believable, non contradictory & narratively satistfying. This is the essence of powerscaling as a narrative tool, which Stan himself has used many times

such an outdated thing to say given that the thing and hulk have fought against eachother MULTIPLE times to the point where its a whole bit between them. if youre doing a drama that has no physical conflict then yes powerscaling doesnt matter but if you write hero comics it does

Powerscaling is not engaging with story. It’s using minor details and fun facts to make an argument for a hypothetical scenario that you made up in your head.

I don’t care if Stan Lee said it. I don’t care if Jack Kirby said it. Powerscaling MATTERS if you are telling stories where conflicts are primarily solved through combat, even more so if said conflicts involve supernatural abilities. This shouldn’t be a debate y’all are annoying
