An “Aggregator Account,” according to X’s definition, is a pure reposter account that mainly collates content from elsewhere—memes, TikTok-style viral videos, or any assortment of material found across the internet.
Under X’s new monetization rules, these accounts face the harshest penalties: a 90% reduction in both reach and earnings.
Interestingly, I never qualified as an Aggregator, yet X’s algorithm labeled me as one. Many others are experiencing the same issue.
My content has always been a mix of original images, videos, and streams, combined with curated historical and educational posts about retro games—ranging from informative clips to gaming trivia. I occasionally shared unrelated funny or game-related posts, but these were never the focus.
So why was I flagged? It appears to be a flaw in X’s system, which fails to properly assess an account’s overall nature. Multiple support tickets have gone unanswered beyond the standard reply: “We cannot help you any further. This ticket is now closed.”
This is why I started my two-week pure Original Content experiment—to test whether the label persists even when every post is 100% original. If it does, it suggests accounts are flagged at the account level rather than by individual post analysis.
