“When you start learning how to actually go in and compete in your ABs what kind of at bat do I know I’m gonna get out of you when the game’s on the line?…And when I got someone in the box and I know that there’s no matter what, I’m gonna get a quality AB out of them, you’re gonna be at the top of my order” @nheadley14 on having an approach and competing in the box 🔥🗣️ #the108way

Rick Pitino said, “You’re not allowed to give excuses because excuses are a sign of weakness. We give no excuses when we fail. Failure is just fertilizer to help us grow as a team." Excuses are just lies you tell yourself. Great teams don't make excuses because they set high standards and take ownership of their actions. • Excuses = Fear. • Excuses = Denial. • Excuses = Insecurity. • Excuses = Lack of accountability. They know that accountability and discipline matter more than any excuses they gave. How to Get Rid of Excuses: • Embrace Personal Responsibility - It starts and ends with ownership. Accept and own that you are the master of your fate. Understand how your actions, decisions, and responses to circumstances are under your control. By accepting this responsibility for your life, you reduce the tendency to make excuses and focus on how you create change. This mindset removes a sense of powerlessness. • Practice Self-Discipline - You have to be disciplined in what you want. Strengthen your willpower and self-control. It means doing what needs to be done, even when you don’t feel like it. At the end of the day, it takes what it takes and it takes toughness to accept that. Self-discipline is the key to overcoming the temptation to make excuses. Develop habits and routines that reinforce discipline in your daily life. • Take Action Consistently - Actions speak louder than words and progress is built on consistent action. Start with small steps and gradually build momentum. When you regularly take action towards your goals, you start to change the direction that you are headed. It helps you solidify a habit of progress over procrastination and excuses. It helps you build resilience in the face of obstacles because you have done it before. • Get Solution-Oriented - Focus on finding solutions, don't dwell on problems. When you focus on the negative, you constrict your thinking. Think about solutions and effective strategies to overcome your challenges, this will broaden your mindset to become more creative and innovative. Building a problem-solving attitude can shift your perspective from excuses to actionable solutions. • Set Goals and Priorities - Clearly define what you want to achieve and what your priorities are. This gives you a sense of purpose and reasonings. It gives you direction and a roadmap for where to focus and how to get there. The key to goals and priorities is to consistently reflect, revise, and remap them based on how you're doing. This reduces the likelihood of deviating into the realm of excuses. “He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else." - Benjamin Franklin - - - Follow @coachajkings for more posts like this!
