It's deeply upsetting to me that it's a fairly common idea that an average young man is a loser and young women are by default consider prizes to be claimed by being "not a bum". Gojo is a tall and handsome man who's extremely talented and merely suffers from social adjustment issues, and they still call him a loser. Seto from Anjou-san is treated as a loser despite being the most academically gifted guy in his whole region. Senpai from Nagatoro is treated as a loser despite being multi-talented and pretty popular with many friends even at the start of the series. People legitimately think that you don't deserve a woman being sweet and loving towards you if you're not literally a Chad.
