Hope resides in our young people. But Brexit has held them back. They should be able to live, work and study in Europe, which is exactly what our Youth Experience Scheme will deliver. This is part of rebuilding a stronger relationship with Europe. That's the Labour choice.

@Keir_Starmer @Ed_Miliband But if you apply a windfall tax, you are indirectly increasing the cost to the consumer because the energy company isn’t going to shy away from profits, ever. They will pass on that cost to the consumer as they want a profit margin regardless.

Before the war in Iran I made clear: it is only fair that we have a windfall tax when energy companies make windfall profits, so we can help families with the cost of living. The Tories, Reform, SNP all oppose it. Only this Labour government stands up for working people.

Britain smashed more renewable energy records last year. Wind delivered 30% of electricity, solar generation grew by 37% & UK emissions fell to 54% of 1990 levels. More clean power means more control over our energy security, bills and our future.

@RachelReevesMP I don’t understand what the government actually does with all its revenue. The government rake in around £300 billion a year in the form of income tax alone, over £800 billion including all tax revenue. Where does it all go?

From today, energy bills will fall by 7% for families across the country. We took the decision in the Budget to ask those with the broadest shoulders to pay their fair share, and today we see the result of that. Vital cost of living support delivered by this government.
