From the telemetry, I think Sainz was trying to keep Verstappen in his DRS range by lifting, sometimes even braking a little, before Turn 12. He did this on laps 44, 45 and 46. But not on laps 47, 48 and 49. Leclerc overtook Verstappen on lap 46.
