@mrjinjin2612 Part of it may be that shows with overarching plots can more easily bring people together who like different aspects of the show, while shows without overarching plots are more dependent on people liking the humor or other writing aspects specifically.

You can tell indie animation is fucked because the second someone makes an actual fucking cartoon instead of some therapy session bullshit, people complain about it not having some overarching storyline.
These people would bash SpongeBob if it came out today.

As much as I love the art direction for this and I really wanna say good things about indie pilots: I just don't have anything to say about story. This feels like something you'd see as a bumper short inbetween commercials. Even for slice-of-life it's just not that interesting.

@Austin35942267 @flurryfrenzy One of the official YouTube channels even put a teaser for season 2 up at one point, and then it just got scrapped after that for no apparent reason. And so unceremoniously scrapped that I don't think it was ever even announced as cancelled; it just never got any further news.

Been thinking. The 'comics are confusing' argument would be over if mainstream companies had an official reading order for their titles you could look at online.
Newer readers (who want a chronological experience) have a horrible time reading their favorite character...

If you do nothing, the randomness of where the snake pops out will eventually "win" the game for you, but that doesn't mean there wasn't gameplay available to engage with. 2/3

@offmodescarab They need to figure out a way to make comics print-on-demand at comic shops themselves. Then they could eliminate the cost of unsold stock, stuff would never have to go out of print, and comic shops could effectively carry every comic that gets released.

everything Kirby said is right but even if you're not broke the value proposition of weekly comics is pretty bad. for the price of 4 comics a month you can get Netflix
