Also, could La'An's illicit knowledge of the Romulan genetic heritage, and Pike's knowledge of the Enterprise's destiny to discover it, be a temporal prime directive reason why she had to leave before Kirk's 5 year mission?

Side point though, as that's how I read it I then loved how Scotty earned the admiration, and 1 on 1 drink at the bar, Kirk originally pretended to.

@seanferrick @TrekCulture After moving house mid season I'm finally catching up with SNW and Ups and Downs and 4 1/2 Vulcans got me thinking. You say Kirk was there to visit Sam, but did he not have the vibe of someone popping over to a friend's house when his hot sister's home.

@cambridgepunted @fesshole I was just mentioning a related story, not giving legal advice, but I think sibling rights (and by extension nibling) are significantly weaker but not nothing. But even without the legal aspect an omission can be seen as an accidental oversight. A penny legacy is a clear FU.

Decided years ago not to have kids, but overhead my brother's kids talking about what they are going for spend their inheritance on when we are both dead. Little shits don't know 100% of it's going to the local animal rescue charity.

@officialnhaynes And the Dolphins worshipped Nereus else they, too, might be used as a subaquatic dustbuster.

Is this some kind of underwater drinking game? I feel like one dolphin is having quite a lot less fun than the other dolphins… Met Museum

I can see the Farragut being the Cali class of its day. I can also see Pike trying, but failing, to swing bringing his Bridge crew in.

@seanferrick @TrekCulture Been seeing news snippets saying the next series of SNW will develop the Kirk/Spock relationship and only now realising how much I want to see live acton Kirk and Spock bonding in a bar on Starbase 25 whilst Pike is at a conference.

Anyway just thanking you for the excellent work and enjoyment, hope my thoughts were interesting (and if you've long thought of them them at least you enjoy that other's pull apart the episodes too)

As a side point to that it also occurs that there's a subtle tone shift at this point. Although the humour is consultant throughout, the LD half is just a rollercoaster of events&after 23 mins it becomes SNW 'very realistic' with more pathos and consequences (i.e. grain shortage)

@seanferrick @trekculture I've been re-watching Ups and Downs, especially the excellent Those Old Scientists, and realised two of my personal ups weren't on the list. Thought you may enjoy me sharing them (I realise the ep is ages old and you may have long though of them)
