@efuzz I think there’s an Otis Nixon catch from Fulton County Stadium, where he puts a cleat in the fence and goes way up to rob a HR. That’s one of the most impressive defensive plays I’ve seen as well.

Best defensive play I’ve seen in nearly 50 years of watching baseball. Name a better one. I’ll wait.

@efuzz Matzek’s play was stellar, but the ball wasn’t hit particularly hard. Mauer had to track a ball that was hit in the air behind him and then reach behind a screen to grab it. Degree of difficulty was substantially higher.
