🔥 After the Flames The fire’s gone out. The ashes are cool. The laughter, the songs, the stillness — they all feel like they’ve faded into yesterday. It’s easy to feel close to God when you’re sitting around the fire. The noise of life quiets down. The stars seem brighter. And for a little while, His presence feels almost tangible. But now Monday’s here. The emails, the classes, the noise, the grind — it’s all back. And suddenly, the God who felt so near by the fire seems far away again. Here’s the truth: the fire may fade, but the flame doesn’t have to. What you feel out there isn’t a place — its our Father. . And He walks with us back into the busy. “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” — James 4:8 ✨ This week, my challenge for us all is to slow down long enough to remember Him. Talk to Him on the walk to class or your drive to work. Thank Him in the small things. Worship Him when no one’s watching. Because real faith isn’t proven in the moments by the fire — it’s proven in the mornings after the flames. God bless!!

When Healing Doesn’t Come the Way We Hoped..... Today marks four years since my dad passed away. It still feels strange to write that — four years without his voice, his laugh, his stories. We prayed so hard for healing back then. We believed with everything in us that God could make him well. And He could have. But God chose a different kind of healing… one that didn’t happen on this side of eternity. And I’ve learned since then: Healing isn’t always about staying here — sometimes it’s about going Home. So many people pray for their loved ones to get better — and they do. Others pray just as hard… and they don’t. And in those moments, it’s easy to wonder: Was my faith not strong enough? Did God not hear me? Did I do something wrong? But faith was never meant to be a formula. It’s not about getting the result we want — It’s about trusting the One who knows what we don’t. Some prayers end with recovery. Others end with peace. Both are heard. Both are wrapped in love. Both are answered — just not the same way. So if you’re in that place right now — waiting, praying, or grieving — don’t let the enemy convince you that your faith failed. Faith isn’t measured by the outcome, but by the surrender. God hasn’t forgotten you. He still works miracles — even when they look like peace instead of recovery. And the same God who held my dad… is the same God still holding me. And He’s holding you, too

Thankful for my first day of school as a #careertech Fire Instructor and 9 years later my last day as a teacher at @TCTATuscaloosa. The memories are many and the times were always great. While the program may have ended, the lives touched will live on. #vayacondios

Through out the school year, we try and work with our students getting them ready for the workplace. Whether its practicing through mock interviews, clocking in, or even tying ties, our motto in Fire Science is to be ready at all times. @TCTATuscaloosa @egmackey @MikeDaria

SkillsUSA Alabama Firefighting Competition 2025 has come and gone. While we didn't place in the top 3 out of the almost 30 students we are proud of P. Dancy for competing. We also dropped by to see our former students, Jackson and Aiden at their "real" jobs. @TCSBoardofEd

In Jan. 2024, Brian Ricks was discovered in cardiac arrest at work. TFR and Northstar responded, successfully resuscitating him after being in cardiac arrest for at least 16 minutes. He has recovered & got the chance to meet the crews that were instrumental in saving his life.❤️
