@qprw12179700 @MattWinton2 @2025_wells Agreed with this. LFW message board is generally very anti CN.
English

@MattWinton2 @2025_wells This is brilliant mate, and interestingly I also felt the urge to write something after reading that LFW article. I really like Clive’s writing, have done for years but I really vehemently disagreed with what he was saying, and was disappointed to see so many agreeing with him.

If you’re bored and fancy a bit of QPR reading, I’ve written a new piece on the direction of the club.
Why I still think patience makes more sense than hitting reset again.

@MattWinton2 @adamwheeler_R19 Warbs demanded and got as big budget. Blew it. Move on.
English

@adamwheeler_R19 Thank you. I liked Warbs very much. He should have been moved into that role back in the day. I couldn’t see them working together now though
English

@DanTheLoft As I said let’s agree to disagree on this if one Dan.
English

@Rangerstweeter Fair enough, but I disagree. Wages broadly explain league position, but not us thrashing Leicester, whose bill tops Southampton’s, or getting stuffed by Coventry, who we outspend. It’s not how much you spend, it’s how - and that defeat in that manner shouldn’t happen at our level
English

3 points off playoffs mid Feb with 47 points, most happy. Move on 3 days and our injury hit team gets mauled by a club with a huge playing budget and there is total meltdown. Is this an average view or a knee jerk reaction of a shouty few? #qpr
English

@davman1971 We haven’t blown next years budget. RE will prove to be a very valuable asset too.
English

@Rangerstweeter Not looked, but how many teams have lost 7-1 and 5-0 this season?
Not a meltdown, but the injuries have totally derailed the season and we've blown the next few years budget on yet another CB when we needed cover up front and in midfield this Jan.
Big frustration.
English

@DanTheLoft Let’s agree to disagree on this one. I think budget had everything to do with the nature of the defeat.
English

@Rangerstweeter I don’t disagree - parachute payments are a bugbear of mine in an otherwise fair league. But the gap doesn’t excuse a 5-0. We’ve been ambitious with spend & seen results, injuries have hurt, but being that vulnerable to an embarrassment says more about us than their wage bill imo
English

@DanTheLoft It’s still a massive gulf Dan. Their budget and squad versus ours is huge. Look at their bench options compared to ours.
English

@Rangerstweeter Understandable frustration. Not non-league money vs Southampton’s huge budget, but that performance was non-league level. Recent net spend & £27.5m wages show proper upper-Champ ambition. You should still have the depth & leadership to avoid that kind of collapse, injuries or not
English

@paul_martin78 I get it. My son’s been to 12 away days this year and seen 3 goals! Terrible run poor lad.
English

@Rangerstweeter Its the manner of the defeat that hurts and is why fans are rightly upset. The players looked as if they couldn't be bothered and that is unacceptable no matter what.
English

@qprmeath Fell apart when we lost our key player. Up until then it was competitive. It’s just unfortunate. We’ve proved we can move on from a spanking before. Let’s hope we can do it again.
English

@Rangerstweeter When did Southampton last do that to anyone? I think it’s the embarrassing recurring nature of the defeat that hurts most.
English

@Qprjem0808 To be fair, I recon all clubs have a similar trend!
English

@Rangerstweeter I think it’s symptomatic of here it’s generally all or nothing. HMS Piss the league if we win or complete doom when we lose. Obviously manner last night was bad and objectivity out of the window in the immediate aftermath. It’s an emotional game and difficult to see balance then.
English

Injuries…is it luck? Bit of both I think l. There is genuine randomness with contact injuries, awkward landings and when they all come at once. Good sports science and rotation can only reduce risk, not remove it. In the Championship the schedule is relentless and squads are thinner, so the same number of injuries hurts smaller budget clubs like ours far more because there is less depth. #qpr

Play offs are written off now, I'm glad. Just finish comfortably and end the season on a high if possible. Should be safe from relegation, need 1 more win to confirm it. Injuries ruined what should've been a really good season. Kick on the 26/27 season #QPR

Like the new Ronnie song but the last line not so much!
‘We’ve got Ronnie back and we’re on our way’ surely better?
