You would be shocked at how many iconic LA businesses have been quietly bought and propped up by Saudi/UAE money. Karen Bass and Nithya Raman have made business in LA unmanageable. Only global PE and oil countries can absorb the losses there. This is why your favorite iconic restaurants are all folding and being replaced with Taco Bell…the Nashville locations can make up the losses in West Hollywood. But if you’re a boutique/single business operator, your one location must be self-sustaining, which is becoming increasingly impossible in LA. I don’t wanna dox the *many* Saudi-acquired businesses in LA and cause a run on the banks, but suffice it to say…if your favorite non-corporate chain hotel/restaurant/club is still in business…it’s because it’s been bought up and subsidized at a loss with Saudi oil money. In a way, it’s an act of charity…ME countries are sponsoring valets and waiters and keeping jobs alive in LA, but it’s concerning to think of how much of LA is now foreign-owned, and increasingly hard to not believe that the city is locked in an inescapable death spiral. Most Angelenos are blissfully unaware of all this, of course…they traipse around their house of cards and continue to vote for anti-business communists who erode the foundation of their city…“uninvestable” is the word one titan used in private discussion. LA is like a snag waiting to fall…discretely hollowed out by fire from the inside…if there’s not a rapid and drastic reversal in leadership this year, the city will collapse on their heads. It’s a travesty that journalists have failed to alert the public about this. Obviously, a lot of Angelenos were smart enough to see the fissures and they fled, en masse, and continue to do so at an alarming rate. It’s just shocking to see how many continue to ignore the ticking time bomb. Only the middle class suffers from these things. There’s a breakaway civilization of uber-wealthy who can hemorrhage money without much concern, and the poor have everything subsidized by the tax dollars from the 1%. But the middle class are too “rich” for the subsidies, so they gotta pay full price for everything…but they’re not rich enough to afford those increasing prices because the subsidies have made them skyrocket. We are reaching an inflection point. Scary times, man. Communists are evil.
