A man with zero real-life friends, sitting in the dark working from home, rotating between horror movies and YouTube 24/7… are we calling that peaceful solitude or untreated social decay?

@future_yas typical Tesla. Sees a collission, so it disengages to protect itself legally. You're on your own, 2s, figure it out!

Tesla will settle this lawsuit, just like it's been settling other AP/FSD crash cases. It appears the Cybertruck was going too fast so the driver intervened but not soon enough. Bookmark this.
The Cybertruck Guy@cybrtrkguy

DEBUNKED! The Cybertruck overpass crash in Texas has been proven to be human error. Tesla’s telemetry logs show FSD was disabled 4 seconds before impact, leaving the human driver full responsibility for making the proper turn. Good riddance!

@gtrunner @thunderf00t The system is designed that if you attempt to save yourself from an FSD failure by applying the breaks FSD is disengaged so you can be blamed by both Teslas attorneys and Tesla fanboys.

@thunderf00t people don't seem to understand that Tesla's are made to do this they turn off autopilot seconds before a crash so that the company can't be sued.

@thunderf00t She turned off FSD herself. There's nothing on the road or in front for FSD to predict crash and disengage so FSD can't be blamed. The moral of this story that the woman was only able to drive for 4 seconds without crashing.

@thunderf00t Similar videos and reading comments from Tesla fans suggest that Tesla owners do not know that applying breaks disengages FSD. If your Tesla is speeding in a turn and you apply breaks without anticipating an immediate FSD disengagement the wheel will center and you will crash.

@Automoto415792 you assume FSD noped out, we dont know if it disengaged due to driver input. if you smash the accelerator pedal, it will override FSD.

@Automoto415792 From what I'm seeing in similar videos and hearing in the comments, Tesla owners aren't aware that activating the breaks disengages FSD. So imagine your Tesla is taking a turn too quickly and you apply the breaks but aren't anticipating an immediate FSD disengagement in a turn.

@jchybow @MissJilianne And as long as Tesla drivers are free to disengage the accident rate will remain low. As it has for nearly a decade. But dozens of minor to mid accidents I’ve prevented personally on my hw3. Only one major and the disengagement didn’t save us. The car was totaled. We are safe.

If Autopilot and Full Self-Driving were truly flawless, there wouldn’t be Cybertrucks crashing because a driver failed to intervene, there wouldn’t be a critical error to begin with. Seems pretty clear to me.

@Rashiim @Teslarati What was the speed? You describe it as "speeding" but what number? All the time it was driving up the ramp, whatever the speed, the driver was responsible. If, as you claim, that was too fast then the driver should have taken over, as was their responsibility in law.

TESLARATI@Teslarati·
In 2021, a fatal Tesla Model S crash occurred in Harris County, Texas. Every media outlet reported it as an accident caused by Autopilot. An NTSB report released in February 2023 proved there was "no use of the Autopilot system at any time during this ownership period of the vehicle, including the time frame up to the last transmitted timestamp on April 17, 2021.” The car was not utilizing Autosteer at any point during the crash.

@SawyerMerritt One day, media outlets will learn that Tesla has access to driver logs, just like one day thieves and vandals will learn Sentry Mode exists

@LinkN01 This guy thinks doing a vindication test is using a completely different vehicle. Why did he slow down the original video? Why does his 10 seconds video show less roadway than original 9 seconds video???

@GaryRooksby @Teslarati When it creates a situation that a reasonable human would be unable to avoid. Like speeding up an exit ramp and no slowing down before a turn. If it goes to court Tesla will lose.

@Rashiim @Teslarati Exactly. YOU'RE still driving. It's YOUR responsibility to oversee and take over, not FSD's. Yet. How can anyone blame the FSD when it's not responsible?
