Forgot to share this yesterday in the midst of a chaotic day! @RasmussenBase is the man. Come see his (80-grade stache) talk draft picks and ignore my interviewing skills, which were (80 grade trash.)

@CoachOpe Clarified in comments, the MLB draft tracker listed UNLV under 3 different names so it was missed in a search.

So the 4 pitchers (5 total players) selected from UNLV seems like a significant number……

Really thankful for the 2026 draft cycle, it was truly a great time. So glad to have joined @OverSlot_, I truly believe it’s the best amateur coverage in the game. It’s a great group of guys that made some magic this past week. The 2027 prep already began awhile ago, but I’m excited to release some articles and a board this summer. I’ll also be at Area Codes in a few weeks. Got over a million impressions on here the past week, very thankful to everyone that has read an article, watched a livestream, or interacted in any way with my work. With that being said, it’s time to get off the internet more and remove the blue check mark… My post-playing career in baseball has been all over the place, between coaching, scouting, creating a website, and everything else. I’m 23 years old and figuring it out along the way. For now, I’ll take a short break and start preparing for what should be an exciting fall.

They won’t get tronstein. Beau and Keon will be expensive. Beck should be possible. It’s one of my favorite classes. I think you put it better than me, in the full YouTube video I describe them going after ‘their guys’ (tha I love) at appropriate times. 17 was perfect for Hughes, 28 perfect for Radel, etc.

@RasmussenBase Would you really say Astros took what fell to them? I'd say they were bold & took players they wouldn't have had a shot at if they waited. Also, if they sign Tronstein & Beck, has to be A+

Mid Majors with the most 2026 draft picks Cal Poly (7) UC Santa Barbare (6) Florida Gulf Coast (5) Liberty (4) Troy (4) Dallas Baptist (4) Saint Mary’s (4) Coastal Carolina, UNC Wilmington, UC San Diego, Mercer, Illinois State, Jacksonville State, South Florida, Saint Joseph’s, Middle Tennessee State, and UTSA all with 3. Independent Oregon State with 5.

@Swan_ASF @kyler416 They consistently drafted players that I valued highly in great spots. They took good risks, drafted exciting tools, and made it all work.

My final 2026 MLB Draft Rankings. The Cardinals sit at the top, with the Rays and White Sox close behind. No need for any 'C' grades since none of this will matter for 5+ years.

@Krew723 @Swan_ASF @kyler416 They reached with Rose, otherwise they got really good players in really good spots. Rabe and Slightom both could have gone much earlier.

@Swan_ASF @RasmussenBase @kyler416 That’s the highest letter grade that I’ve seen anyone give the Royals draft. Round after round the Royals reached for picks hoping the upside hits.

@Strachota73 @Brewers 100%. I say often that none of this matters, but it’s fun. The Brewers are the best at going down the board and getting underrated talent. Hard to rate them highly when I didn’t have many of their guys highly ranked, but they’re one of the best draft orgs out there.

@RasmussenBase I keep seeing bottom of the barrel grades for the @Brewers yet they own the best farm system in baseball. I guess time will tell how good this draft was for each team.

@BaseballATeam I think it’s reckless to bomb teams in what is such a subjective matter. I also think every team did a fine job, no total egregious moves. With so much still unknown, the C-F grades shouldn’t come until a year or two down the line.

@RasmussenBase Some grade inflation on a scale of B- to A+ in what's considered to be a fairly weak class. Surely, some teams bombed their picks.

Had a great time talking about the Cardinals draft with @vivaelbirdos. I’m pretty sure it’s my favorite class, listen to the full pod for my reasoning and some sleeper picks!

@RFnosebleeds Fischer: whiff 22.2% Chase 17.9% Grahovac: whiff: 26% Chase: 27.7% and Grahovac walked a lot less. That’s the difference, it can be miniscule in numbers, but massive for corner IF prospects.

Gavin Grahovac’s final year at A&M was nearly identical to Andrew Fischer’s last year at Tennessee (and Tennessee is much more hitter friendly) Fischer goes in the 1st, Gavin goes in the 3rd. I’m absolutely stoked.
