Big fan of Teagan Scott in the draft this year. Even if the prep catcher is slowly becoming extinct, I’d bet on Scott. 95th percentile contact% and great bat speed.

@Kai_Patricelli It’s not about the walks. It’s that he swings and misses at the worst rate of any top 150 prospect in this class. Organizations care about that stuff, even if you don’t. I don’t know anyone in the industry that has a round one grade on him.

@RasmussenBase The hit tool concerns of what? He has as many walks as strikeouts, almost has as many walks as all of last season through 1/3rd of the year and has 80 grade power lol. It’s not like he’s homer or bust, everything is loud contact or he’s taking walks.

Not even close to what I’m saying. Scouting involves future projection. His lack of a full arsenal is a red flag. That was also a red flag with Smith, and it has limited him in pro ball. He also just transitioned to starting. Go read your favorite publications opinion on him and theyll say the same thing.

@princedglazer32 @drewbourne23 Yes. At Over-Slot we are higher on him than most other outlets, BTW. I’d consider him one of my favorite arms in this class. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t have reliever risk. Look at Hagen Smith rn.

@RasmussenBase Do you think Cole Carlon has a higher probability of climbing into the top 10 or falling out of the first round given his profile?

I would lean toward no, but it could be possible. I have a 3rd round grade on him right now, and could see him rising into the 2nd. Still some questions about the breaking ball and control of the arsenal. Could see a team loving him underslot early, has mid rotation written all over his name.
