Long for the days when people would find common ground and mutual respect despite having differing viewpoints/ideas.

I said this morning that I'm happy he kept the markets from dropping, but it was probably all bullshit used to delay a drop for another week while we keep bombing the shit out of Iran. Trump is literally following the same playbook that he used before we went to war. Tell people that negotiations are happening and they're looking good. Then show them what's up when he's ready. When ready say the IRGC is unwilling to work with you. Start bombing them hard around the Strait of Hormuz this weekend, if not sooner. Then get to Kharg Island and take it.

TRUMP: - IRAN WANTS TO SETTLE, WE'LL GET IT DONE, I HOPE - VERY GOOD DISCUSSIONS WITH IRAN - THIS TIME, IRAN MEANS BUSINESS This is the 3rd time today that Trump has spoken to the media about wanting to get a deal done with Iran. He is either seriously trying to find an offramp or really trying to calm the bond markets down…or both.

¡Ay, Caramba! The WORST Real GDP per Capita growth in the OECD. (Luxembourg is not a real country - sorry) Maybe, and hear me out now, we should consider a different economic philosophy.

For the record. A Master Class in Incompetence: the Bank of Canada. High energy prices are deflationary: they squeeze real incomes, crush discretionary spending, and deter investment, so the ultimate macro effect is weaker growth and downward pressure on underlying inflation, not a permanent inflation spiral. Yet you should fully expect central bankers to ignore basic economic theory and, as they did with wages and tariffs, misread a negative supply shock in oil as the start of a permanent inflation regime rather than a growth shock with only temporary price effects. It is hard to describe that repeated error—treating every cost shock as a 1970s rerun, as anything other than total incompetence. The Bank of Canada just delivered a masterclass in that incompetence: leaving rates unchanged as Canada heads for a hard landing is not caution, it is negligence—tight policy into a weakening, energy‑squeezed economy is how you turn a slowdown into a policy‑induced recession, then blame “inflation expectations” after the fact.

It’s time for Prime Minister @MarkJCarney to join me and millions of our fellow Canadians in supporting the appointment of Don Cherry to the Order of Canada, one of our nation’s highest honours. This shouldn’t even be up for debate. Don Cherry is a Canadian icon, a hockey legend and is loved by Albertans. He’s not just one of the greats, his word and opinion about our national sport is still treated as hockey gospel by millions of Canadians. His contributions to Canadian sport and culture are undeniable, and the work he did to honour our nation’s veterans was an invaluable contribution to our country. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Canadians. So, put the puck in the net and give Grapes the recognition he deserves. Read the full story here: calgaryherald.com/opinion/column…

I’m honoured to welcome Nunavut Member of Parliament, Lori Idlout, to the team as the newest member of our Liberal caucus. Working in partnership to build a strong North and strong Nunavut is essential to building a more secure, prosperous, and resilient Canada, with lasting economic opportunity for people all across the North. Lori has devoted her life to fighting for Nunavut’s potential and the immediate needs of its people, becoming known in many ways as the ultimate community MP even as she represents a constituency the size of Mexico. At this important moment in our history, Canadians are coming together to build a strong future. Lori’s voice and leadership will make an invaluable contribution to this work as part of Canada’s new government.

The last federal election was decided by 2.45% of the vote. Liberals: 8.59M votes Conservatives: 8.11M votes Today a NDP MP crossed the floor to the Liberals. That single move effectively neutralizes the voices of 8.1 million Canadians who voted the other way 8.1M thrown in🗑️

There’s a hell of a book to write for the inside person who breaks away from Carney & documents their plan over the past year: - Keep demonizing Trump (yes, I’m aware Trump has made that terribly easy at the best of times) - Build very little but promise it - Publicly pretend that it’s possible to replenish US trade as impossible as it actually is - Make the smallest of changes to toughen laws for repeat/violent offenders - An equally small change to immigration - Do zero on homelessness, fentanyl crisis, mental health supports - they don’t vote -All the while, pitch positions, travel, portfolios to MPs you think would jump or see a financial gain. Presto - a majority 🇨🇦 never voted for.
