Your dad is a different breed! I worked in Rangely as a roughneck for Twin Arrow in the early 80’s. I was the derrick hand on my rig. Did a lot work for Chevron and Suburban Propane. Oil boom went bust, our rig got sent to the yard, so I went back to school. Craziest job (every job in Rangely was tough) anyone can imagine. Friends always laugh when I tell them that the roughneck scenes on Landman are weak. Still have my hard hat and kept all of my fingers.

This was the oil boom town, Rangely, CO. My dad had returned from war in the Pacific, and had been recovering at the Quonset, RI naval hospital from wounds sustained in combat. He and my mom met at a USO dance in nearby Providence. Mom had been doing wartime service manufacturing munitions at Speidel watchband factory (converted to military use). They then went to Rangely where he got his job back as a pipefitter with his pre-war employer. While he was fighting in the Pacific, somebody else got his seniority back in the states, however, and he eventually felt there was no future in private industry. He then enlisted in the army, and passed Officer Candidate School. He actually served in two different services as a career. I am pretty sure that photo was taken in the boom town, hence the primitive construction look. I’m not sure saddle oxfords were prevalent in the West yet, however!

Let's all take a deep breath. That was really, really hard to hear. Scott revealed he is on hospice care and no longer in the Pluvicto trials because he is too sick to receive it. He is saying his final goodbyes to the people he loves. PLEASE do NOT try to reach out to him, as he said, 'bombard' him. This is a very personal time in his life, and I know we all want to respect him to the fullest. Today, MAY have been his last CWSA. If that is the case, we have to remember how lucky we are that he took us this far through his experience. He has done more than anyone possibly could, and we have NOTHING BUT GRATITUDE for this. Please pray for Scott and his family and for each other. I am seeing all of your DM's flooding in, and I am reading them. I wish I could console you all. Just know that Scott has built an everlasting legacy, and we are all Scott's Debris. Let's stay strong for Scott as he does for us. Love you guys!!! Erica
