And people accept ACL in training & in competitive games. But when it’s rammed down your throat that players are playing far too many minutes & not enough recovery time, then naturally a pointless friendly is probably one of the stupidest things. They’d have been better giving players rest, time with their families, and training in heat

A few seasons ago, we saw Emi Buendia do his ACL in training days before the start of the season & we’ve seen players do the same injury in Premier League games.
The fact Jadon Sancho got injured in a friendly doesn’t matter, it could’ve happened in any training or game 🤷♂️ #avfc

I think from memory it was 10 paid & 1 foundation.
They could have done 1 foundation, 1 ballot, and the rest paid for as per existing packages, it would be probably been better as to be fair, you only really get from say 5 years to 10 years to really get a kid holding hands with a player. At one point they’re too young then too old / ‘cool for that’

Mascot opportunities at Villa park changed this season as we moved away from a paid model into a community model..
But genuine question,how is this handled now?
I've seen the same child be a mascot with the same parent at least 7 times this season...
How does that give all children from the community a fair crack at the opportunity?

Basically worked out to be £30 to walk out on the pitch with a player. Best £460 I’d ever paid that was. Sounds a lot, but as I’ve just broke down, it was literally next to nothing. What an experience. I still remind him about it all the time. He loved it!
