Here’s ANOTHER Maryland resident looking to leave the state. Do you agree with their reasoning? “My husband and I are looking outside of Maryland. Chris, I cannot wrap my arms around Maryland citizens supporting a one party system with the attitude of more taxes, spend more.”

@tamacgregor @JDHeadhunter @isabel_cumming again. It is wrong because of the historical harm it is to people of color. Caricatures, no matter how it is drawn, have been used to DEHUMANIZE and MOCK people of color. I'm not going to explain it again. I suggest you use Google and do some research on your own.

🇺🇸LET FREEDOM REIGN🇺🇸
He is a crybaby because he is likely committing crimes and doesn’t want to be held accountable, so he says the word “racism” and expects the accountability to go away. It’s not going away. He will be held accountable, not because of the color of his skin, but because of the content of his character.

Maryland Senate President Bill Ferguson waded into a dispute between Mayor Scott and IG Cumming Thursday, saying it’s not enough to apologize for posting an AI-generated image of Scott. The post undermined trust in the office, he said thebanner.com/politics-power…

@tamacgregor @JDHeadhunter @isabel_cumming 1. A caricature doesn't always have to exaggerate facial features. It can also exaggerate a person's personality or some other feature, such as a person's disability. I've heard of MAGA losing their minds over caricatures of Donald Trump. I'll inform you of why this is wrong.

@RavensGirl2016 You mean like how came all the way over to Penn-North to have a press conference and we ain’t his district? Or how he originally wanted the mass overdose hearing to be exclusively in his committee? I’m losing count of his stunts now.

@playball2017 @emilyopilo 1. IG Cummings deserved the backlash she got for the post. She should have used better judgment. 2. Apologizing was the right thing to do at the very least.

@4truth_and_love @emilyopilo So he is a "crybaby" because he had a right to complain about a racist caricature that IG Cummings should have had better judgment in sharing.

@MDBayNews @iamwesmoore Do you recall that even Trump and friends have started this war with Iran, and thus, prices are going up because of something he started, but let's ignore the pain that Trump has caused Americans.

“Real progress”… according to the press release. If energy bills are lower, people should feel it. If housing is improving, it should be affordable. If Maryland is “working for everyone,” people shouldn’t still be struggling to keep up. At some point, progress has to show up in reality—not just in statements blaming Washington.

Over the last few years, we’ve made real progress. During this legislative session, we kept going, protecting Marylanders from the federal government’s chaos, lowering energy bills, and building more housing. The work isn’t done, and we’re going to keep building a Maryland that works for everyone, regardless of their zip code, political affiliation, or identity.

@justin_fenton @MarkConway4th there should be lessons learned that racism or racial bias will not be tolerated. Unfortunately, she got what she deserved. Nothing is gained by engaging in this type of conduct.

@justin_fenton @MarkConway4th @MarkConway4th. Respectfully, while IG Cummings may not be racist, she brought that perception on herself. It's getting harder for people to defend a person's reputation once they engage in acts of perceived racism. I don't believe she should resign at this moment over it, but

@tukeypaal @SenBillFerg Show the evidence of fraud by the mayor, and we'll talk. I'm not getting into the fray of guilt by association or guilty because he's a black man or guilty because of party affiliation.

@RavensGirl2016 @SenBillFerg So our taxes going up because of these fools spending foolishly "pales in comparison" to a stupid meme that was making fun of Scott's overspending and living large on our dime? No wonder Maryland is fked. They need to mandate IQ tests for voters - AND ID. 🤡

An apology is fine for personal redemption. It's not sufficient professionally under the circumstances. For an office built on impartiality, the choice to publicly post insulting and offensive content to attack a sitting Mayor undermines public trust and the work of an oversight office overall. This whole episode is exactly why a thoughtful, purposeful framework for accessing data in the public sector is so important. Too often personal vendettas cause people to make bad choices, and good public policy requires systems to be in place to limit the potential damage that can result.

@RavensGirl2016 @IanMWolfe @SenBillFerg Well, Scott should hand over the documents, but he won't. Also, the ape AI video was from a staff member, and everyone in Congress was depicted as a wild animal. I agree it was a little overboard, but it wasn't solely just the Obamas being depicted in the AI video.

I've watched Isabel work, she is genuinely one of the most earnest people in public office. These back-and-forths happen to all of us. What sets real leaders apart is the willingness to pause, reflect, and take accountability publicly. In Baltimore, from any public official,

@JDHeadhunter @tamacgregor @isabel_cumming The problem is that caricatures like that have been historically used to mock or dehumanize black people. If you also take a look at history, the Germans did the same thing to Jewish people by giving them exaggerated facial features. I'll do you one even better, people will
