@RetroGameCorps That's unfortunate. I wonder if there's a real reason why the port is not actually centered. Maybe they're just trying to forget the add-on exists and phase it out, while focusing on the inevitable flip 3?
For those wondering, here is what the Retroid Pocket 6 looks like with the Retroid Dual Screen attachment. It's slightly off-center because the USB-C port is positioned to the left.
@MTS55MTS55@StevenHenrique7@RetroGameCorps I think it'd be even better without stretching the screen and keeping the original aspect ratio even with the black bars. Did you try it that way, but prefer filling out the whole screen?
AYN Thor prices will increase next week due to the ongoing RAM shortage.
- They are still accepting "Batch 2" pre-orders until 20JAN
- "Batch 3" pre-orders start 20JAN, at the following prices:
Base: $309 ($10 increase)
Pro: $369 ($20 increase)
Max: $449 ($20 increase)
@Retroid0fficial The silver one looks great! It reminds of the "Special edition" Platinum Nintendo GameCube, and I wish the buttons and right stick were colored appropriately, like on the Indigo Purple RP5, a color that they should've kept for the RP6, BTW...
Follow @wario64 and repost for a chance to win 1 of 5 codes for Tomb Raider Definitive Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 (NA eShop Code) courtesy of @AspyrMedia. Giveaway closes on Nov 21st, 6 PM PT.
Game is out now on Nintendo Switch & Switch 2 (no upgrade paths)
@ScottDrick@Wario64@UrAvgConsumer I still have this as well! It was my first 1080p "TV" and I have good memories of watching and playing 3D games on it... I still use it occasionally as a second screen or PC monitor, I should probably try emulating GameCube and 3DS in 3D on it...
@RetroGameCorps I think I’ll wait for your review and to see if the driver situation improves with the SD8 Elite before release.
Right now I’m leaning towards the Thor with the SD 8 gen 2, since I’d rather have the 2 screens and I’m not planning on messing with Windows games anytime soon anyway
@FatKidDeals The math ain't mathing... The jump from 4 to 6 chicken McNuggets on the cheaper location is more expensive than it should be, considering it's just 2 more pieces. I guess it's better to add 4 pieces separately, that way you get an extra dipping sauce. 🤔
@RetroHandhelds It's a shame the prices on these things sky rocketed since they discontinued them, and the only "cheap" ones I've found have damaged screens...
Even with the impending release of the Retroid Dual Screen Add-on and AYANEO Pocket DS, the Microsoft Surface Duo is still a great dual-screen gaming device for Nintendo DS and 3DS.

@smashed763@darkerhei@Wario64 Yeah, that sucks. I also have the official pro controller and 8bitdo ultimate wireless 1 and they don't wake the Switch 2 either.
Don't know if that's something that could be patched through a firmware update or if it's a hardware limitation, tho
@darkerhei@Wario64 I was able to sync them via BT with my Switch 2 and played a cup of MKW and a round of Knockout Tour, and didn't notice any lag or random disconnections like I had with the OG Switch playing Mario Party or Smash. Previously I had to sync them to the USB dongle for them to work ok
@RetroGameCorps@StephJ0 Hey, Russ. How do you feel about that size difference now that we know it wasn't actually a 4:3 screen and the V2 has come out?
Still debating on the RP5 vs Flip 2, but now that I saw the Mini with the Retroid Dual Screen on top, I'm thinking that could work better for 3DS games!
@StephJ0 It does make quite a big difference:
- a 3.7" screen is 11.6% larger than a 3.5" screen
- a 4" screen is 31.3% larger than a 3.5" screen
So a 3.7" screen will be slightly larger, but a 4" screen looks and feels a LOT bigger on a 4:3 aspect ratio display by comparison.

@RetroGameCorps I was originally planning on getting the Flip 2, but the RP Dual Screen attachment looks tempting!
I'm looking to get the RP5 in indigo as I love the GameCube colors, but I wish the RP Mini V2 and Odin 2 Portal would come in those colors as well...
I had fun putting together yesterday's "favorite handhelds of 2025 so far" thumbnail, as a throwback alternative to my "favorites of 2024" video. Same style, but different background, angle, and devices!
@AMorFMMMMM@Wario64 Would be nice if we could have both available, with a retractable USB port for whenever you want to use BT instead, like using it handheld on a Nintendo Switch.
@Wario64 I have the non Bluetooth version and love it. I heard the BT has some issues, but dang it would be nice to not have the USB in the way and be able to keep my phone in it's case.
@fathrfigvre@Wario64 If you're aiming for the XX line, those all have the same power, it's just a matter of if you'd prefer a different form factor or controls. I'd recommend watching a video like this one, where it compares the advantages and disadvantages for each one:
