To be honest I am yet to see the special abilities of Kobbie Mainoo. I have never for one day seen it, even when he broke into the first team. He can't pass He can't press He can't create He can't tackle He can't run I genuinely do not see what the hype is all about for just another average kid from Carrington benefitting from the mess created at Manchester United.

Kobbie Mainoo for now is a very good luxury player. People talk about how he dictates the play. He doesn't. He just can't play long passes, that's why he sticks to what he knows, short passes. Pedri has long passes in his arsenal. He just chooses to not use that skill. Big difference.

This is exactly why they need to him to fail so bad. They know deep down, that Amorim was one of the closest things United had to a long-term project in a long time. The day he succeeds, is the day they have to move the goalposts or admit how horribly wrong they were. You don’t fear someone else succeeding elsewhere if you don’t have insecurity about his potential.
