@CalHiSports He was also fired by the Lakers. Been fired enough to show that the Knicks are winning in spite of him.

He would sometimes show up at local high school football games when he was with the Kings, too. We remember one time seeing him at Grant. Another connection: Son Elijah played for Gary McKnight at Mater Dei for two CIF state title teams 2012 & 2013.
Legion Hoops@LegionHoops

Mike Brown was fired from the Kings less than a year and a half ago. He was also fired by the Cavaliers, who he just swept, TWO SEPARATE TIMES in his career. Today, he’s leading the Knicks to their first NBA Finals in 27 years.

Top four seeds should be: 1. Georgia Tech 2. Georgia 3. North Carolina 4. UCLA

@CoachEricXIII TBH the former Pac 12 teams carry the Big Ten in baseball, outside of Nebraska. Your second paragraph is ridiculous.

I do not respect the Big Ten in baseball at all. The top 5 teams in the ACC and SEC would have the exact same record as UCLA if they played in the Big Ten. Disagree if you like, but you know I’m right.

Gretzky was a great offensive machine. That’s undeniable. Orr was an unparalleled two-way player whose career was cut short by injury. Orr was a better PLAYER.

@SteveFryer We are becoming a nation of degenerates. Cursing is the realm of illiterates. When I was young no one ever cursed in front of adults.

@DaveGallagher22 Let’s be honest, you faced old soft tossing Tanana and not the young fireballing lefty who was amongst the best in MLB.

When I was a rookie on the White Sox I faced Tanana. I lead off the first inning. The rosen bag was on the left side of the mound. I asked the ump to ask Frank to move the bag to the back. Tanana looked pissed as he slammed the bag down. Then he drilled me in the ribs 1st pitch😎

@DaveGallagher22 You owned Frank Tanana…5 for 13

The team Muir is playing today, Lakewood, has a legendary coach who is retiring when the season is over. Walter “Spud” O’Neil is retiring after 52 years, 23 Moore League titles and two CIF-SS titles. This has become a Cinderella season for Lakewood, who is 13-17 entering today’s quarterfinals. Great story.

Muir will be trying to reach the baseball semifinals for the first time in history as far as I can tell. If Covina wins too, Muir would be at Covina on Tuesday. Muir, even though legendary Jackie Robinson played there, has never been in a CIF-SS championship game.

I don’t know what to even think about this. I mean it’s a little much right? A little look at me from the ump? Idk what do you think?

@calpostbbolch That’s their only chance. If they bring in one of the other pitchers it’s game over. Better score 20 every game.

UCLA softball ace Taylor Tinsley has taken the ball and rarely given it back during a season in which she's pitched more than half her team's innings and started every postseason game. Can the Bruins reach the WCWS behind basically one pitcher? nypost.com/2026/05/22/spo…

@slmandel Well you obviously aren’t familiar with men’s softball. Was very popular in the 70’s and 80’s. Long Beach Nitehawks was my hometown team. Google them.
