Wrapping up the week with a celebration of 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Ray Simmons (@Ray_Simmons) of the University of Southern Indiana (@USIedu / @USIAthletics), who has spent more than 40 years in the athletic communications field! “It is an honor to be recognized for my work in this CSC Lifetime Achievement award. So much of my life has centered around my wife and the work I've done in this field at USI. I took over for a student SID at a Division II in 1989 as a one-man shop and have been at USI for more than half of the University's existence. This is as good a way as any to announce that after 37 years at USI, I will be retiring as Director of Athletic Communications at the end of this year. Thank you to so many at the @USIedu , @USIAthletics, @GLVCsports, @OVCSports, and a long list of staff, students, and workers.

This is a sad day in the fight against cancer. Heather was a great warrior against the disease. Her fight will go on.

We are sad to announce the passing of our Director of Communications 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻. She served the OVC for 20 years, longer than any full-time staff member in league history. bit.ly/3ZSlFOn
