@RayforHopeless @SeemantiniBose A small correction: The state-run "Maa Canteens" will serve fish and rice meals twice a week for only Rs 5. The remaining five days, the canteens will provide the standard egg and rice menu.

Today I got to know that ‘Shanitniketan’ the house where Abhishek Banerjee lives originally belonged to my relatives. I have been to that house as a kid. AB demolished that beautiful house and has built the ugly modern day architecture. No taste really.

My message to SIDBI and to every banker here is that standard products cannot serve non-standard businesses. - A farmer linked enterprise does not earn every month - A resort does not earn evenly through the year - A government exporter waits for payment after shipment - A small auto component supplier waits for invoice clearance - A woman entrepreneur may have regular transactions yet no property in her name Then why should all of them be given the same repayment structure? A 22 year old Tanya Bharadwaj, asked a question to Mamata Banerjee and Mamata got furious, labelled her CPI cadet, Maoist and more and walked off the stage. That same night, Tanya had to leave Kolkata as goons and party supporters were allegedly after her, according to a batchmate. Sagarika Ghose did not support or defend her. Today, 14 years later that same lady recalls the incident and heaves a sigh of relief.
