Inside Story: The Unblocking of Nimo Yadav and Nehr Who’s Accounts The true elegance of left ecosystem lies in the intricate and expansive network of specialized agencies it has established for each distinct function. Though these entities may appear diverse and operate through varied approaches, they function in seamless coordination, collectively driving the system’s overall effectiveness and resilience. When their accounts were blocked last month, their boss spoke to them and informed them that they had a specialized agency capable of handling the matter. She advised them to contact the Delhi-based Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF). Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF) was founded by Apar Gupta, Nikhil Pahwa and a few others. All of them are leftists and part of the global left ecosystem. Apar Gupta is a postgraduate from Columbia University School of Law in the United States and is also an Ashoka Fellow. Based on their X posts, both founders appear to be anti-BJP and pro-Congress. IFF specializes in such cases and has been working on digital rights, civil liberties and democracy. It was IFF that arranged lawyers for them, prepared their writ petition and fought the case on their behalf, drawing on its extensive experience in handling such matters. Some of IFF’s donors include: • Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiative • UNESCO • Boston Consulting Group • FOSS United Foundation • Wingify Foundation Azim Premji and Wipro group is the biggest backbone of Left ecosystem in India, they also behind the IPSMF which funds The Wire, Alt News and almost all left digital media The following team represented the two pro-Congress handles in the High Court: Ms Vrinda Grover, Mr Nakul Gandhi, Mr Apar Gupta, Ms Siddhi Sahoo, Mr Gurdeep Singh, Mr Soutik Banerjee, Ms Devika Tulsiani, Indumugi C., Naman Kumar and Avanti Deshpande, Advocates. Meanwhile, The Wire and Alt News took responsibility for building a favourable media narrative in support of them. Through this coordinated effort, IFF successfully secured the unblocking of their accounts. My question is: IFF describes itself as a digital rights advocacy organisation, yet why does it appear to assist only individuals aligned with a particular ideology? Why has it never helped right-wing (RW) accounts such as @StringReveals or @randomsena in getting their accounts restored? If RW has to fight against them then they have to build their ecosystem
