A lot of people are saying ‘LOL Isak will just buy out his contract’ if we don't sell to Liverpool. But even if he triggered the Webster ruling, how’s he going to come up with wages owed and a transfer value of £140m+? The rule is a loophole, sure, but it’s nearly impossible at this level. So Isak is playing a risky game here, he could end up being the example Newcastle sets for how the club intends to move forward. But who will want to join Newcastle now? The right players and NOT the rats. It’ll be a big fee to give up on, sure. But the Saudis will come out ruthless and maybe players will think twice before pulling this shite again. Or… maybe Isak will rethink things and rejoin the team with a written apology to the club. We'll see.
