Strikingly, there is NO evolution in his playing since the first album, it is all exactly the same. But that first album drop is unparalleled.

@JoeRoganRecaps There isn’t a planet where EVH “doesn’t get the credit he deserves.” If anything he gets too much credit there compared to some of his contemporaries. I like Eddie but he was super egotistical and he definitely gets his due as far as his place amongst guitar greats.

Alan Holdsworth is one of the most groundbreaking and talented guitarists of all time. Most people don’t listen to progressive rock and are more familiar with EVH and they prefer flash over substance. I do believe EVH is one of the greats but he’s not in the same league as Holdsworth.
