Starting July 14, Roblox will reduce 2D item creator earnings from 70% to 30%. For in-game sales, developers will earn 40% while creators still receive 30%.
Uploading 2D and 3D items will also require ID verification, an active Plus/Premium membership, and an 800 Robux upfront fee per item.

The Roblox VNG region lock continues to affect players from many countries, even after VNG partially rolled back some restrictions in recent days. While some games and screen time limits have returned for certain players, many non-Vietnamese accounts remain stuck in the VNG region with no option to switch back. According to documentation by @xnxkwxd, there are currently 42+ verified cases across 21+ countries. This includes high-spending players, content creators, several minors in the EU, and a large Russian-speaking group with over 158 participants. Many of these accounts were reportedly locked without the users ever intending to use the Vietnamese version. The main issue remains the permanent region lock. VNG has quietly restored some features without any official announcement, but the region itself has not been reverted for foreign players. This has been publicly confirmed by multiple affected users, including @yafy905015, @DexExists, @0hanszei, @Figured3k, and others. Several players have escalated the matter through official channels, including the FTC, California Attorney General, Better Business Bureau, and Vietnamese consumer protection systems. According to the documentation, there are also questions around how the VNG service is classified under Vietnamese regulations, as VNG itself references its licensing status on roblox.vnggames.com. One of the key pieces of evidence shared by @xnxkwxd is an email from Roblox VNG support stating that the system “will automatically detect and update your regional location.” Affected users report that this has not happened even long after the initial incident. Murder Mystery 2 keeps blowing up 🔥
The game is now consistently maintaining 350K–360K+ CCUs every day and counting, even without a major update. This level of sustained daily concurrent players is unprecedented for MM2.
Daily visits have also climbed to 35–36M+ and continue to grow.
After the upcoming Summer/Season 2 update, I expect the game to reach 450K–550K CCU now on average, with peaks possibly higher.
If we get a proper countdown, the game could realistically hit 800K – 1.2M CCUs during the event.
With record-breaking activity even in a “quiet” period, MM2 is showing growth unlike anything we’ve seen before.

This level of daily CCUs has never been seen before, with the game consistently maintaining 320K-330K+ CCUs every day. After the Summer/Season 2 update, I expect this number to increase to around 400K-450K, with 500K being possible on exceptionally active days. MM2 has also reached a new all-time record of 34M daily visits and is now consistently maintaining approximately 33M daily visits every day. For comparison, the game's all-time peak reached 700K+ CCUs during the Halloween 2025 update. If we receive a countdown for the upcoming Summer/Season 2 update, I believe the game could reach anywhere between 800K and 1.2M CCUs. With record-breaking player activity and visits even without a major update, I think YouTubers, content creators, and Roblox developers should be paying close attention to Murder Mystery 2 right now. The game's growth is unlike anything we've seen before, and the upcoming Summer/Season 2 update could push it to an entirely new level.
