The only silver lining here is you get the best hockey between the two because everyone is fairly healthy and people aren’t already out with injuries during the first round. Maybe some lower teams just play really physically to make up for the lack of skill and now one team is rolling in beat to hell. From the NHL standpoint it’s good because everyone is excited for playoffs, and you get great hockey matchups to match the hype right at the start. Then you kind of coast through the second round but build excitement as teams get closer to the cup. Just spit balling here.

Lightning and Canadiens should be playing this game in the ECF, not in the first round. Let's please go back to the 1-8
