It’s completely unacceptable that the outdoor fitness equipment next to Seniors Centre- Newton is not available for use. It’s been taken over and is full of trash and who knows what. Not cool. #surreybc #bcpoli ⁦⁦@SurreyMayor⁩

@HarryBainsSC Yes, we participated in that. Let’s talk about Downtown Newton specifically. For example- the sad state of the wave pool exterior. The west side is just a mess- has been for a long time. Stains on walls etc. Can’t imagine South Surrey or Cloverdale being disrespected this way

@ReNewtonNation We recently engaged Newton residents and businesses through Focus Newton Task Force - this helped guide our policies and capital budget. Approved cap plan includes - Newton Comm. Ctr, Unwin Park masterplan and many road imps. We also continue to push for rapid transit up KGB.

@HarryBainsSC If you go back to 2014, Downtown Newton was promised ‘BrandSpanking Newton’ Yet, the $$$ always go elsewhere first. Downtown Newton is a little gem that deserves some love.

@ReNewtonNation Preliminary work has already commenced for the Newton Community Centre. It is included in the City's capital plan (310.6 million, fully budgeted for) and is estimated to be completed by 2029. This is a great project for Newton and is long overdue.
