SAD NEWS: Two staff of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH) have reportedly been abducted by suspected bandits along the troubled Maru axis in Zamfara State while travelling from Abuja to Sokoto after attending a union meeting. The victims, identified as Abdullahi of the Histopathology Department and Rufa'i of the Microbiology Department, were allegedly whisked away to an unknown destination, with the kidnappers demanding a ₦20 million ransom for their release. As insecurity continues to spread across key highways in northern Nigeria, how many more travellers must be abducted before authorities regain control of these routes?
