Multiple things have to change: 1. Mandated expenses. Car insurance, and insurance of every variety (house, health, etc.). Government regulation.. licenses, permits etc. 2. Ever increasing taxes. Multiple things are being brought to light and are happening. 1. It is being shown that Chinese and Russian weapon systems are shit. This will pause the likelihood of WW3. 2. I would make the case that there was less direct embezzlement by members of congress in those days. Now, it's likely, a 1000 times worse... you're talking about a deficit of $100 billion versus today's $2 trillion..
