FIFA-mandated hydration break, and in a closed-roof stadium, has done nothing other than take the sting out the game. Perhaps different with more at stake during the World Cup, but every single player standing around on the field for over half the three-minute pause just wanting to get on with it.

A group of former US Women’s World Cup champions played against Wrexham, the club owned by Ryan Reynolds, in a mini-tournament with a twist: only men over the age of 40 were allowed to take part. ⚽🇺🇸 Before kick-off, Olympic champion Heather O’Reilly posted a playful message for the Welsh side: 🗣️ “First, you should be here, Ryan Reynolds. Second, your team is about to get crushed by us in the North Carolina Cup.” But that didn’t quite go to plan… 😅 The Wrexham veterans ran riot, winning the 40-minute match 12-0. Lee Trundle scored four goals. 😳⚽

Newcastle United obviously needs a huge transfer clear out in the summer Bruno Guimaraes, Lewis Hall and Lewis Miley should be untouchable in our point of view Don’t want to lose Tonali, Gordon or Livramento but also understand they will get huge offers with massive wages and would be harder to keep ahold of Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Dan Burn, Fabian Schar, Joe Willock and Jacob Murphy can’t be starting for us next season. Need to be let go or become more rotational at the club Club needs to bring several new signings in with good recruitment and planning behind it this time ✅ #NUFC

Get-in price right now for ACC tournament basketball final in Charlotte - just under $31 for Duke-Virginia. Get-in price to watch Messi play Charlotte FC tonight, just one mile away in uptown and also Saturday night - more than 5x more, at around $170. Basketball arena capacity: about 19,000. Bank of America as configured for soccer: about 35,000.

🚨‼️ Tottenham Hotspur will face a staggering financial loss of over £250 million if they are relegated from the Premier League. · Tottenham Hotspur have won only 7 points out of their last 15 matches. · Relegation would trigger a massive drop in broadcasting revenue and commercial income, with the club's high operating costs and stadium debt making the "Championship trap" particularly dangerous. · While Spurs possess a world-class stadium and a high-value squad, these assets become liabilities in the second tier; massive wage bills are difficult to sustain without top-flight income.

Form has to matter when it comes to the final World Cup roster. You have your base of players (locks) Pulisic McKennie Adams Richards Dest Jedi Weah Freese Balogun Ream Anybody else shouldn’t be a lock imo. Form especially in superior leagues should be a factor. If guys like Johnny and Musah continue to perform well they have to be in serious contention. I’m trying to say this in the most respective way I can but form in Serie A or La Liga should triumph form in MLS in my eyes atleast. Banks is in that conversation as well.

Gio Reyna at 18 is far too low. He deserves a top 10 spot for bringing down the Berhalter regime.

You take that money and run and reinvest it. 23 with major knee injuries, picking up little injuries aswell. Now’s the time to move on in the summer especially as we can’t let that contract run down. We can 100% get better than what he offers at RB. At left back he’s fucking great

🚨 Newcastle United are exploring a deal for 17-year-old Swedish striker Kevin Filling. He has been compared to Alexander Isak due to his development with AIK. Newcastle’s talent spotters rate him highly but, because he is 17, the likelihood is the Swede will end up at a bigger club on the continent this summer. (Source: @MailSport)

🚨🗣️ David Beckham: “Every day, Leo arrives early for training and leaves later than any other player. He’s the most dedicated and disciplined player I’ve ever seen. I’ll take you back to the first day that he came into our training ground. He arrived at 6.50 in the cold morning! Trust me, there was nobody in the training facility apart from one guy to let him in… He arrived at 6.50. Yes, Leo Messi at 6.50! And the team weren’t training until 10. “He’s in the gym. He’s warming up, doing all of things that you expect a young kid to do, and he’s still doing them now at his age. And everything that he’s won in his career, you’d expect him to be a bit more relaxed. If I had to describe him with one word, he’s a Winner.” 🔥🐐
